I always regret buying my Xbox, modded or not, and usually few reasons why I don't, those reasons: Fable, Doom 3, Strangers Wrath, Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, and now Half Life 2.

I already own Half Life for PS2, so when I saw Half Life 2 was out, I had to decide, Xbox or Computer. Computer would be harder to pirate, since I dont have any money to buy it now, and I had a free game rental coming from Family Video, so I went with Xbox.

I can only say this, the game is out standing. Most FPS games rely on just blowing people away alone, shooting stuff, running, getting a key, and shooting more.

Half Life 2 is a great balance of puzzles and action, and makes a great game out of it. You won't be fireing your gun the entire time, but your gun wont be forgotten either.

The story, in my opinion is pretty good, I like it alot, and the small bits of comedy they add in to it are a pretty good touch, it shows, even when you are in a horrible position, you always have time to laugh.

It's a lot better on the computer. =p

One of the main reasons people get it is for the mods. You can't use the source development kit on the xbox.
It's better for the computer. then you get counter-strike source, which pwns online.

Also, the lost coast upgrade is out.

It has to be the best mod for Half-Life 2.

I spend countless hours building strange mechanisms...:\

Unfortunately Garry's Mod hates me and won't load. :'(
I dont care about the mods or expansion packs. I got the HL Platinum pack for the PC and I have yet to use any of the expansion packs, nor have I yet to play it online.

I care about the game, not all the extra mods and expansions people put out to suck up my money.

Thats why a lot of people at my school got pissed off when they bought GTA Vice City, it was just like a expansion pack, but sold for the same price as GTAIII brand new.

What...? Valve has already released another level for free. The only mod that costs monet is Day of Defeat. Most mods are made by people just like me and you.

Not everything is for free, you just said Day of Defeat costed money. I am only talking about the ones sucking up my money, about the ones that, you know, charge me.

I am aware there are a lot of free mods out there, for PC games, are you aware I dont care?
In response to Shades
Are you aware that most mods cant charge you because they are mods and not actuall games made by the developers. On that note, i love mods and i think that they make any game 1000x better because they give the game a different angle and its basically a whole new experience

Yeah they can, but they have to purchase the engine from them. It's done all the time.

Doom 1 + 2 are some of the best FPS's I've ever played and they tend to stick rather rigidly to that formula. =p

When I got doom I thought it was teh awesomez too, now when I play it, it sucks.

Doom is still awesome, mostly because it does what I like. It has a ton of really dumb monsters that will fight each other.

I really want to get this game but don't know if my graphics card can handle it. It's an integrated graphics card called VIA/S3G. Can I run HL2 with it even if I set all the settings to the lowest I can? I don't really have the money to get a new card now.

Why not try the demo? :)
In response to Hell Ramen
That would be a more practical suggestion if I don't have dial-up. I've seen the size of the demo and there is no way I can download that with dial-up.

You need a 64mb video card, I had it running at about 20FPS on a geforce 2 TI(64mb).
