Yeah but see that the entire point. I have a orginal NDS that I do not need anything else with it to use it how I wish to.
I paid $150.00 for this one, why would i pay another $150 for a slimer model? It dosen't make sense.
Now if they made it like ultra small, like the size of a Nintendo GBA SP, then maybe Id think about it.

I like the way my original one looks better. Smaller is better, sure, but that's the only thing it has going for it. The light in the original was already bright enough and the insignificant move of the mic can't make much difference.
