A hole.

Say I have a straight hole across my pants, it's a rip. I could add dye and stuff like that to make it look even cooler.
Lol.. something that was taken from a game by force.

Like a screen grab.

Actually a screen grab does not itself constitute a rip; it's just something you can use to rip icons.

Eh, both meant.
In BYOND terms, a rip is a direct copy of a game by taking the original source code and recompiling under a different name and possibly with new features.

There are also such things as ripped icons or other ripped resources, which basically means you've taken icons or such from another source without permission and used them yourself.

and/or have not given them credit
A rip is stealing someones work without permisission.
It can include using printscreen to steal art work, stealing coding, original music/ideas/story line/graphics/icons.

Ripping is bad, so...don't do it :)
When I sold this kid a Sega CD with 3 games for $250.00 cause it inlcuded Eye of the Beholder and the memory cart. I turned around and bought a brand new Sony PSX with the money and a game.

Man did I rip that kid. lol.

That depends on what the going rate for SegaCD was at the time. I don't know if it was still like that when the PS came out, but I recall it being $600 at one point.

Actually, in my opinion whether you have /the (permission/given credit to) /of the original creator or not it's still a rip, because it's not actually original.

Example:
"Hey, this is "my" Dragonball Z game. I ripped everything from the Zeta src, so I would like to give credit to Dracon."

It's still a rip even if it has that would you not say so?

RIPPED means it's stolen or not original...eg if a new program came out called fragonball x with characters like moku and tegeta...that would be a rip...because it's not original it's based it'self off other programs..this is true in games...just because the coder acknowledges he ripped some icons or coding...doesnt make the game any less of a rip...

all rips are bad...
BASICALLY a rip is an unoriginal item...game..code...idea...concept...program etc etc...thats either stolen or based on someone elses work:S

rips are usually bad as they are not the reall mcoys;)

eg the amount of zeta version 45 rips (there is hundreds)

Erm, than every game is a rip pretty much.
Its what people do on others when they are impatient, or immature
