The reason why is all of the Elysium rips, the players of them dont even give other DBZ games a chance anymore, i know this for a fact because under my Sky Dragon Productions key i have a DB non zeta or elysium rip, heres how it goes:

person A has logged in with a new character
Person A has logged in
(3 seconds later)
Person A has logged out

This happens ALOT and i mean ALOT.. isn't this true?
[edit]
i mean, yeah, there are too many DBZ games on hub, but 90% of them are rips, and so many players have gotten used to rips, they dont give other games a chance.......

Actually Elysium is one of the least ripped DBZ games; the most by far is Zeta.

person A has logged in with a new character
Person A has logged in
(3 seconds later)
Person A has logged out

Then it's time to produce something more original that won't get associated with those rips.

DBZ = bad
even if it isn't a rip not many people play
In response to Lummox JR
Lummox, it isn't that Elysium is ripped, Shades gave out his source >.> After he did that, there was, from what I saw a spike in DBZ rips.

This happens with a great deal of frequency for just about any game, actually. If 50% of the new keys you see logging in stick around for more than a minute, you're doing good.

I find that it's almost directly related to the lack of players in a game. If a player logs into a game with like one or two players and no conversation on a global chat they wont stick around.
However if there's four or five players and at least some activity on the chat people will stick around and see what's happening.

It's a catch 22, but only if you consider leaving the game up and running the only way to draw people in.

I think BYOND administrators should just wipe all the DBZ games that haven't been hosted in a while. They're sucking up a LOT of bandwith. Also, look at this guy;
http://games.byond.com/hub/Dbgtsuperfreak
Have you ever seen anything like that? Creating rips all over the place, and can't even spell his own hubname correctly.

How so?

That reminds me of Dragonball Apathy. I should have taken a screenshot of that hub entry, because when I read that the creator was oblivious to what Apathy really meant, it made his hub entry that much better.

That guy is a moron and how in the world would those affect bandwitdh if anything it would be space on the servers but i doubt they would use over 1mb

Why not wipe all the other games that haven't been completed or are disscontinued all thought getting rip of dbz is a good idea you have to think of the fans.. sigh i hate it so much but u have to think of em i wish i we didn't have to
In response to Kalzar
Yeah I sure did. They aren't really ripped, just over used by lazy kids who don't want to learn a damn thing. Actully I think I am gonna delete the hub entry. I don't know why I didn't charge for that source, I would have made a bundle.

I had started on something new.. fact is though, with new icons, with new ideas, Dragonball Z is always gonna be Dragonball Z, no matter how orginal you are. So I just said screw it.

There's the whole "no accepting money for anything fangame-related" but if it weren't for that, you probably would have pulled in a bit of money (or until one bought it and passed it out for free)

Yeah well...

2 years ago we got a $350.00 donation which we used to host Majins and Mystics Remastered for like a year and a half.

1. A.T.H.K., ever noticed how BYOND suddenly goes down, or the login's are suddenly stumped? Don't you think that all those unused hub entry's affect it a bit? Seriously. It's like Robust code. Everything matters.

2. Why not all the other games? Might be a good idea, but since DBZ is about 60% of BYOND, I'd say it would have to go first.
In response to Mysame
I've been saying this for years. BYOND needs to do a quick sweep, like take one week and just check for any GOOD libraries and demos and make sure they keep those.. then completely wipe the hub entrys.

I am so sick of finding hub entrys that are broken, or looking for something and having to filter through 11000 different entrys that don't even have anything to do with my keyword.

Yeah, we would have to re-make our hub etnrys, but.. so what.

Yeah, you need to learn the definition of words before you go about accusing others.

A hub entry won't suck up bandwidth unless it's actually accessed- and then what? All the hubs are text only (with small thumbnails for banners etc.) and all other pictures must be hosted off-site.
In response to Leftley
1st impressions count...make the start awsome...and the rest shall follow..

and yes many games are rips and when i log in if i dont see an original and fun game within 5mins (with a RBS) I leave....

Not a half bad idea in my opinion. I say that any hub entries that haven't been either downloaded, hosted, or tampered with in some way over the last 6 months should be deleted automatically. At least that would clean up the hub search a little.

(Unless of course, something like this has already taken place and I'm just oblivious to it.)

Yeah thats true, but i recenty hosted a game called Dragonball Nations, its one of the most original DBZ games i have ever seen, and hardly anyone joins it, or if they do, 3 seconds and they are gone
In response to Axerob
You do realise he meant 'not DBZ' when he said original. DBZ games are, by definition, not original - you're ripping from whoever the hell came up with DBZ.
