This is really starting to piss me off. I'm running Windows XP Home SP2 and I'm trying to set up a LAN so I can connect my Ubuntu box. I found a router and some cables, and since then I've connected both computers to the router, connected the modem to the WAN port on the router, and made sure the router is recognized. I've been trying to get an internet connection on this computer (winxp) with the router connected, and nothing works. I set it to where it would acquire my IP and DNS stuff immediately, and then it can't acquire my network address. I tried setting it up to use specific info from my ISP, and it connects and shows no problems, yet I get no connectivity. With the IP provided from an online manual for the router, it said to use that to access its settings, and the IP doesn't work.
The router model is RCA7004BR.
