Add me on AIM, it's Emasym. Sounds rather cool.

I play all the time using 3rd with someone that uses 3.5, and the only differences I can recall at the moment us coming across are variations of spells (different damage than my version, different duration, etc.) 95% of the time we don't conflict at all. I second that on account of the fact that it refers to me. Also, Send me an e-mail at [email protected] with the details, saturday afternoons are good. That said I am more famaliar with the game than is probably healthy, pointing out the circa 20 3.5 books and the PDF files on my laptop etc. I also like the idea of trying out some of the new spells from Spell Compendium if this plays out. |

I'm thinking weekends, each week or each other week, as players can make it and as my schedule allows.
The gameing schedule isn't very strict - when we're playing online, I realize that everybody has different schedules and conflicts, and I try to respect that the best that I can!
I like to play for at least 2 to 3 hours, but as long as everybody still has time and interest games can slide on.
There are a lot of good ways to deal with it. One is the "it's a game, don't need to rationalize it really" approach - that person isn't there now, and he is later. If players are OK with it, I can play their characters as NPCs, using their skills for the party's benefit, but not doing anything that changes the course of that character's destiny too much. It's also notable that characters do leave parties and join up later; if the party reaches a town and somebody can't play, their character can say he needs a break and ask the party to come back for him in awhile. This opens the possibility for a solo adventure another time in the week or simply a good in-game excuse for an out-of-game schedule conflict.
I'm a lot the same way. In fact, I usually come up with a pretty detailed character concept every Wednesday. Your character ideas, wild or mundane, are very welcome!
