Why have you brought up a topic that was discussed more than a month ago?

Sorry, I just had to say it xD (Don't ask).

I'm gonna sum up this whole ordeal for you guys. Let's start with how good the name is... it's not, we all know it. Revolution was a much better name and represented a revolution in gaming and all that. But they are just names. Maybe in Japan, wii means something really cool... like... um... well it's hard to guess what those people think beacuse DBZ for example has the main character, Goku, which in japan means rice (or food... I forget). But you do have to admit that wii is creative and weird, just like the guys who make it. Also you have to put into account of nintendo's serious problem with 3rd party support after the utter failure of the gamecube by all terms. People dont wanna make games for them because of the money they lost on the gamecube, and that's respectable and common sense (I wouldnt want to either). so every detail of it has to be good... the name could be a big set back... and nintendo cant have set backs again, last time they had set backs the nintendo staff jumped a little girl for a nickel... that's never a good sign...

Massive failure? Bullfaeces. Nintendo made money off of the Gamecube, and they made excellent games for the 'Cube. Melee was amazing, Windwaker was great, Crystal Chronicles was excellent, it was (and still is) fun. Nintendo isn't going down any time soon.

Maybe in Japan, wii means something really cool... No it doesn't. It's not a Japanese word (and if it happens to mean something in Japanese it is not based on said word). |

Please, if you can, provide evidence that developers hate Nintendo's guts.

It generated a fair amount of publicity which is a good thing and it defintly stays away from the stereotypical names i.e. PS3, XBOX 360 |

every consle has a problem, the 360 has it's bugs and all that, the PS3's price tag, and the revolution's (I still call it that) problem is 3rd party support. That means that other companies (3rd parties) do not support the gamecube as much (this problem is much more in the U.S.) and this comes from the waning sucess of the gamecube in the united states. They dont hate the guts of nintendo, their just scard of the success of it in the U.S. Also, I am aware that in Japan, nintendo completly dominates all. So I'm sorry if I went a little too far but just so you know, I was speaking in terms of the U.S.

According to them they have plenty support because of how easy it is to develop for the console. It may be one of the big worries, but it isn't a problem at the moment. |
