I'm cleaning up my desktop again, and I'm trying to get rid of all the junk I don't need. In the icon tray at the lower-right, I have the "Safely Remove Hardware" alert icon. Does anyone know of any way to tell Windows that I want to remove the hardware and it can stop whining about it?
It is there because of my CD/DVD drive. When I click on the icon it brings up the Safely Remove Hardware window and the only thing there is that DVD drive, but I don't want to remove it, I only want to remove the stupid icon that keeps telling me I can remove it.
So basically, is there a way to tell the computer that the drive is there to stay and it's not going anywhere?

The best way to do it is make icons hide, and set that one to "Always Hide". I do not know any other way.
