Hello everyone! Tired of not being able to host. Well so am I! But I have found a solution! It's called Hamachi. It's a program that is FREE that allows people to connect to a virtual private network. It makes it act like everyone is on the same local area network. You can get this program at http://www.hamachi.cc

IMPORTANT: With Himachi people will be able to browse through any folders on your computer that are set to shared. So before using hamachi take sharing off any folders you don't want anyone to see. That way you privacy is safe. [EDIT]Please read my other post on how to be safe while on Himachi, you can make it so people can't browse you: http://games.byond.com/forum/ index.cgi?action=message_read&id=453871&forum=7[/EDIT]

Server name: BYOND
Server password: BYOND

- once you get hamachi log into that server, caps do matter.
- If we can get everyone on BYOND to get this program then everyone's hosting problems will be solved.
- In order for people to beable to join you they'll need this program as well.

Himachi gives you your own unique IP on the server(BYOND/BYOND) you join. To have people join your game they have to be on the same Hamachi server. They just need to connect to your unique IP and then the BYOND port. HimachiIP:PORT

You can also see who's in the Network and if they are logged on or not. You can message people in it as well. If you don't want people messaging you or stuff, you can block them.
It sounds a bit fishy, but when looking at the site somehow a good feeling about it gets to me. Too bad you didn't come with this months earlier, I needed it back then, heh. =P

Anyway, it's a good find - good work!
I see only one problem with this: lots of games popping up, all hosted with BYOND, but behind Hamachi. So everyone will have to download Hamachi, or they will be unable to join.

Specifically for this purpose, BYOND Staff will need to make a modification to the hub that any IPs starting with 5. being reported are either rejected or marked as Hamachi's. Perhaps a different border color?

P.S. Warning to Artekia: I had a look; you have a printer shared. All someone needs is the drivers for it, and you can be remotely controlled to buy more paper. =P
Actually, this is a great little tool. Me and my brother have been looking for ways to share files and even printers over the internet. This seems like a really simple solution. My only problem: It requires a 3rd party to be involved. I would prefer having to forward the ports on my computer, and have my brother connect directly to me, than us both connecting to a 3rd party.

Nah, it's fine. Me and my friends use it to play things like AoE 2 or RA 2 all the time (since both of us are behind unconfig'd routers).
Ok, to prevent people from being able to browse you while on Himachi go to Control Panel >> Network Connections and then you should see Hamachi in the folder. Right click on it and go to properties. You should then see a checkbox that says "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Netoworks" You'll want to uncheck that box. Then press ok and your set! Thanks Android Data for this information.

Also, I guess there is a limit(16 I think unless you are a premium member or something :s) to how many people can be on the same Himachi group so we can just make multiple groups EX: BYOND, BYOND2, ect... and I think that'd work, you can be in multiple groups at once.

P.S. Warning Reply to Android Data:
I doubt it. That's my mom's computer's printer. It shows up, but even I can't use it from my computer; I doubt anyone else could either.
