Using the latest wine update I got DreamMaker to work under my Mandrake10.2 partition :-

as you can see the icons don't crash it! The pager loads for about 5 seconds before crashing though, haven't tested it with DreamSeeker though.
What's a whine? >_>

O-matic

not whine =p, wine it's a program(?) for letting windows programs run under linux

[EDIT: Dream Daemon works as well,Dreamseeker keeps crashing though]

Yeah running dream maker in wine has been possible for a while, dream seeker seems almost impossible to get to run on wine

Has anyone been able to get the pager running? It pops up for me but keeps crashing after 30 seconds or so.

The pager would be in the same boat as Dream Seeker, I think. The main problem is apparently the rich text control that BYOND uses (both in the pager and in DS); Wine doesn't seem to like it.

true, but if I recall correctly, you couldn't get into the icon editor before.

Well everything in dreammaker works now, code editor, icon editor and map editor

Doesn't work for me, under FC5 - I get lots of "Library x not found" - including a few BYOND .dlls that are actually in the directory I'm running it from.

Do I have to grab those from a windows installation?

EDIT: After taking a closer look at the output, the problem is that it can't find a .dll file called 'msvcirt.dll'. Grabbing a copy of that file and setting it as an override results in an unhandled page fault when it tries to read memory at address 0, for whatever reason. It seems that replacing msvcirt.dll has helped, though, looking at the stack trace - everything loads up fine. I'm going to try playing with the emulated version to see if I can get it working.

EDITEDIT: It only works if I run it from a launcher on the desktop, rather then running 'wine dreammaker.exe'. Strange.

Plus, the font is way too small, but that's probably a function of 800x600 resolution.

I know someone who played BYOND using wine, but that was before all of it got integrated, I dunno if its possible with the current version.

Ah, sweet! Everything in Dream Maker works...
Yey!

Too bad I've already switched back over to Windows.
(Or atleast hoping to.)

May there soon be a day WINE will be fully compatable with BYOND.
