I find that extremely difficult to believe. Examples?

I BLEW 1000 BUCKS ON THE DAMN THING!

No sympathy here. There exists a product which has 95% of the features of Photoshop (100% of features that non-professionals need) at roughly 10% of the price. It's called Photoshop Elements. If you don't know what CMYK is, or don't need it, don't blow your wad on Photoshop CS2. Elements has everything you need.

Should have done your homework. Adobe must love people who have to have the "best" without realizing they're paying many times more for features they'll never use.

Well hey, why keep something you don't want?

if he did buy it for $1000, he got ripped off anyway.

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/ - i assume he meant CS2 - the latest version of Photoshop - which only goes for about $650 directly from Adobe (and you can download it from them too).

odds are all the features are there, just placed in new or different menus/locations.

Chances are, he pirated it and wanted to make it sound like he payed for it. That's what it seems like to me :P.

I doubt believe Adobe's return policy states any such clause, and I don't see why you'd buy it from any other source than the Adobe website if it was hundreds of dollars cheaper from Adobe.

Was that intentional? Because it was hilarious as hell and I laughed out loud for like half a minute.

Yeah, me too. Apparently "blow your wad" can actually be used to mean "spend all your money" (I looked it up!)... but the first thing I thought of was... err.. the other meaning.

My guess is that he was advising against purchasing Photoshop CS2 while at the same time promoting proper disk care.
