Just because some peple are seemingly unaffected, or able to withstand the urge, doesn't mean it is not addictive...
It might not be physically addictive (as I said), but that doesn't mean it isn't addictive entirely... It doesn't have to be physically addictive to be "addictive"...
Look at the other examples of gambling, food, sex, attention, etc... Lots and lots of things are addictive, with plenty of people with addictions to them, yet not everyone becomes so, and none of them are physical addictions...
Emotional/mental addictions are just as powerful (if not moreso) than physical ones... And as a "bonus", they're much more subtle, to the point where you don't even know that you have an addiction (which is why everyone denies it)
Bottom line is, it doesn't matter which part of you "needs" it, your body, or your mind... Either way, you still essentially need it... A want that can't be controlled is just as bad, if not worse, than a need...

Anything that isn't supposed to be in your system, and causes any kinds of unnecessary changes to it is bad for you...
Pot, alcohol, cigarettes, and other drugs are all bad for you because they alter your body in ways that aren't natural... Pot is worse than a cigarette in that it affects your mental abilities... Cigarettes cause lots of physical problems, but mental problems are MUCH worse... Of course, cigarettes affect you mentally as well, but the effect is not so strong as other drugs... You don't really lose control due to their influence... |

Exactly, Super. Your vague, ellipsis-endowed rambling speak total truth. I can't stand the people who claim that "[such and such a drug] isn't addictive [so i'll be okay]"- it makes me just want to punch those people in the face with a fist full of logic.

You just now are addicted and have to have one, and you will do just about anyone to get one if you don't have one.

Ok, so your high? big deal. Your high for a little bit then it wares off no big deal. Its not killing anyone or doing much damage. Ciggaretts have so many bad substances that really mess your body up in the long run.

No, it's not killing anyone, until you try to go drive a car, operate machinery, etc...
Being high is an impairment just like alcohol is an impairment... It is NOT harmless... |

I personally don't see the appeal of pot, or any other drugs, so I think I have a clearer view than someone who is addicted, or "Likes it". I don't, however, feel that smoking pot is a sin or anything crazy like that. I do feel that people are hurting themselves by smoking it, but as long as they keep it to themselves I could care less if the smoke. (Basicly, you are to treat your body like a temple of God, so you shouldn't abuse stuff like that.) http://www.marshcommentary.com/notes/marijuana-alcohol.htm |

"I am not sure what your particular situation is, but if you would like to know more about becoming a Christian (I am assuming from your note that you are not - please pardon me if I am mistaken)"
Oh you smoke pot? You must not be a Christian! Please, save the religous mumbojumbo for some religous forum. |

It's not the same thing at all. Some of my friends smoke pot every day and once wrestling season starts they stop smoking all together until the season is done which is a good 3 months. You cant do that with cigaretts becuase your physically addicted. Your body thinks you need it. You feel sick when you dont have it. Weed is better then cigs and so many ways.
