You got the powerup and won life!
Kudos! You saved your brain and your clean criminal record. Now if we could only convince you to save your lungs ;)
I'm proud of you as well. It takes a lot to quit an addicition. Now if I could only quit BYOND.

That'll never happen, though. I love this place, and I'll awlays remember where I started and where I came from.

Pot is not an addiction, you cannot get addicted to it. You just want pot, you never need it. Just wanted to clear that up. =P

I know plenty people who have been or still are addicted to pot(hell anything can be addicting video games, food, ect). So i dont know where you got people cant get addicted to pot from, maybe your are addicted and your in denial. Also you need to remember just because its not addicting to you doesnt mean its not to someone else. Take MMORPG's some people can play them casually some can't and have to play 24/7.

You can't get a physical addiction from pot. Your body won't think it's addicting, only your mind.

There are definitely physical symptoms of addiction, but they're not nearly as pronounced as other drugs such as heroin. That doesn't mean it's all in your mind, though.

With pot you cannot get a physical nor mental addiction. You just like the feeling of pot and want to feel it again. Cigarattes, on the other hand, have chemicals in it such as nicotine that make you get addicted to it. You cannot get addicted to pot, that is the bottom line. I know more about drugs than you ever will.

Try to avoid saying things like that.

It makes you look pretty bad.
*ignores everyone else on about if you can get addicted or not*

Congrats, dude I don't know! I...have no idea what a menthols is, but I'm sure it's better for your health. It's minty, it has to be healthy! =P ...yea, that's all I wanted to say. *run*

Even if we assume all affects of addiction are mental, they are still strong. Pot can be as addictive as food, and you can ask most fat people, cutting back on food is next to impossible for them. I have friends who are addicted to pot, no way around it. Be it mental or physical, they are addicted. They can't go more than a few days without being "Toasted", and they talk about pot when they are not around it. It is always on their mind. Are those not symptoms of addiction?

To make this simple:
Smoking pot makes you feel good
People like to feel good, especially when they feel bad
Pot makes you feel worse after you come off your high
You feel bad, so you smoke, because you know it will make you feel better
Rinse
Repeat.

I personally don't see the appeal of pot, or any other drugs, so I think I have a clearer view than someone who is addicted, or "Likes it". I don't, however, feel that smoking pot is a sin or anything crazy like that. I do feel that people are hurting themselves by smoking it, but as long as they keep it to themselves I could care less if the smoke.

Congratulations topic starter for quiting pot.
You still going to die anyhow...
Congrats on quitting a drug you should have never started in the first place!

And replacing it with a legal drug! I am so happy for you! Now all you have to worry about is cancer! Horray!

BTW knock off the faces crap. It looks so stupid XD when people do stuff like this <.< especally when there is no need to do it (_)(_)///D ~~~

Get the picture?

You are actually very wrong about that.

Anything that gives a person a strong desire to keep doing it is an addiction...

Might not fit some medical definition, but it's still an "addiction"...

You say things like "you don't need to do it, you want to do it" Well guess what? THAT'S THE SAME THING!

Just because the desire to do it doesn't come from some kind of pain (like withdrawl from other drugs), doesn't mean it isn't driven by some physical or mental need...

Bottom line: pot IS addictive, as anything else in life... People can be addicted to food, gambling, sex, etc... None of which really offer any kind of physical "withdrawl" symptoms... Yet, they're all still addictions...
Alright! Good job man...

A crucial step at this point is to do one of the following:

1) Make sure that your pothead friends (if they're still your friends) know and respect this decision, and don't try to get you to get high again (in fact, they shouldn't even do it around you anymore)

2) If the above fails, you need to get rid of them (after all, who wants friends that don't respect their wishes?)
congrats, you went from a drug that's not that bad for you to cigaretts which are physically addicting. Thats a step in the wrong direction if you ask me.
