I don't know what average pricing is for this sort of thing, and I don't know how good my deal is, but I'll tell you what I have for comparison since it looks much better.
I have Road Runner cable connection at $45/month which is providing over 4 Mbps connection speed. Though I upload much more rarely and so am not overly hampered by it, my upload speed is unfortunately much lower at 350 kbps. |
If that is all you can get than it is a good deal, but if you can get other services in your area, that is horrible. Most DSL is about 4x that speed down and is the same price if not less.
I have Road Runner cable internet. $45 a month for 4-5mbps down and 400kbps up. It costs a bit more but is far better. |
Ok, I just got it today, and the results are fast for me!! :D
I can download 50mb in 10 minutes!! ^_^ It is true broadband, it doesnt go kbps it goes kps *is happy with his service* Thanks for the help |
No. Eww.. we had wireless here at one time. It wasn't even that expensive, it was faster, and the reciever wasn't NEARLY that big. This town has 1500 people, so that's not even the issue... that's just weird.

I've also heard great things about Comcast. It's supposed to be way faster than most DSL lines. To get the best information for your area for Comcast cable internet, go here. Take it back! Lies! Lies! Really, though, it's great when it works. If you're unlucky, don't get it. It is fast as heck, though. I can usually download a 500mb game in about 30-45 minutes. I am, however, unlucky, and here I stand with a constantly intermittent connection :( |

Well I get 12GB onpeak/24GB offpeak for cable, basically unlimited down speed, slow up speed.
On AUS servers I can download 600MB in about 2-3 minutes which is pretty awesome I'm paying $90 for that though |
Anyway, if you have that because you can't get anything else in your area (I'm assuming that it's wireless DSL), then stay with it. I'd pay that kind of money for something like that.
However, you can find better for cheaper. For one, Verizon DSL doesn't cost much at all.

Bellsouth doesn't cost that much and has excellent customer service. (I really can't compare it to anything though. I've only used Bellsouth's).

Right now, it's all based on opinion. Choose the package that is right for you.
