School's the main culprit here.People get too caught up in school to play on their old computer anymore...months pass and the computer begins to get cobwebs on it...still too caught up...school ends....who cares about computers anymore?Who cares about BYOND anymore?No-one...that's who...and the next BYOND "Revolution" wont come in years.BYOND 4.0 seems like it's being put on hold too long and the famous people seem to be coming around less.Lummox...Shadowdarke...Nadrew....haven't heard from any of them in a while...Yup.BYOND is getting...well...boring.

Well, there are a lot of factors involved, but to put it simply, BYOND is still loud. The member's pages take away a lot of the junk that used to fill the forums, so it does feel like people are talking less.
Most people who have been on BYOND more than a few years are now so tied up in work and family that they don't have time to be as active as they want to be. I, personally, am busy with work, college, and a couple of websites I am working on as side money. I believe that I am not the only one who is this busy, in fact, I am certain of it. Many older BYONDers have a wife and kids to take care of, so BYOND does get thrown low in the pecking order of importance. School does affect many of the younger BYONDers, but it normally leaves them a lot of free time after school to play around with BYOND. If you really want to see BYOND buzzing again, make a game that is buzz worthy. Games like LastRobotStanding made a huge buzz on BYOND and caused a lot of activity. | |

Falacy,u said there used to be 1000 now there are 2000.I think u should look again.The numbers are dropping.The only "buzzworthy" game used to be Duel Monsters Online,which sucks now.We need a BYOND Revolution!

I remember disticntly,that 2 months ago,in mid August,Crispy had told me that BYOND 4.0 would come out a month later(meaning September).Instead, this crappy Beta 6 comes out.Why do I call it crappy?They took the bubbles away!The Bubbles that tell u who's online!Why,oh why?!?!?!

Huh?!You see the bubbles?!For me,it just makes a sound and then I have to open the client to see who's online...no bubble....btw,r u sure u have beta 6?

Of course I have beta 6, I always keep up to date, try redownloading it and installing it again, I believe there was a small update between the initial release and the current release that fixed the bubbles.

You'll have to realise that the people who work on BYOND 4.0 are doing this on volunteer: They are not getting paid, have an own job that takes time, and most importantly, are doing this in their free time. Their personal life can affect their amount of free time. O-matic | |

Yeah, I missed out on the minor update, and an glad of it. The pop up notifications normally got stuck on my system, sometimes giving me a lot of troubles in games(I run most games in windowed mode). This is really something that should be toggle-able.

You must have misinterpreted me, because I never would have said that. It's more likely that I said that the staff were hoping to have it out within a month. Big difference! BYOND has been running a bit "dry" over the past couple of weeks. I presumed the lack of players were due to concecutive server crashes. Though this may not be the case.
Though I believe that over the next couple of months BYOND will be back in full bore. There are many new and exciting games sitting in production, and if they can get out into the BYOND community just before christmas, I believe that BYOND will boost its population by about 1000 people. I myself are working on a game with a friend, and believe me, it is going to hit BYOND and hit BYOND hard. The game will remain secret until such time as I decided to release it, so I myself am looking forward to the release of this game and many other good games in the future. ADT_CLONE | |

Myself i'm working on a game but it won't be ready for awhile. I don't think it will be ready for aleast until next year since i'm kinda bloged down with college but i break up today for a week so i should have some time to work on it. The next generation of games are on the way just wait. | |
and all those people u claim arent around i see posting on the forums all the time. and u left me off the famous person list!
not to mention since i started using byond 2 or so years ago it only had around 1000 players on it and now it has almost double that on it
