I bought one of the notebook computers that Kujila posted in the forums awhile ago and I am having trouble connecting. I have never had a laptop or any past experience, so I am not quite sure why it won't work. All I did was try to put my regular internet connection that goes into my desktop pc into the laptop but it didn't work, any ideas?
Do you have high speed internet like DSL or Cable internet?

Do you have a standalone modem, or a modem with a router?

Is the laptop running Windows 98SE? (They were supposed to ship with it)

Is it the B2130 (cheaper) or the B2175 (more expensive)

It's DSL internet.
Standalone modem.
Yes, the laptop is running 98.
It's the B2175.

yes but is it 98 or 98SE (Second Edition)? - there are significant differences 'under-the-hood' between the two, including networking stuff.
Sometimes hotswapping a cat5 line from a cable/DSL modem can cause all kinds of problems. The easiest fix for this is to shutdown both the laptop and the modem(AKA unplug it), then turn on the modem, then the laptop. After that(Assuming that that was the problem) it should be fixed.

I also purchased a B2175, and it shipped with 98SE.

I'm not really sure if it is SE or not, but since he said it shipped with SE, I am guessing it is.
