That's a great point. I suppose it is unfair to compare PCs to the entire console market. At Wal-Mart a part of that section is also functional software (such as Tax programs, programming suites, etc), so it's not purely gaming. Though, for the most part, most are games. =P

That makes it much less depressing!

That will probably be the case, as in each generation before. =P

Blizzard claims that all consoule will fail and I agree, since PS3 has early stage of internet whats the point of using it if you can use the latest one. Also you get bored of consoles easily, but you can never be bored of the computer therefore Burning Crusade will be the highest demand. But I still belive 360 is a good console, I dont think it will stop selling.

You don't get bored of a console; rather, you get bored of the games on a console. Of course if no new games come out for a console then you aren't going to want to play those games forever. The same thing is for the PC. I'm certain the likelihood of all support for one console being dropped is almost nil.

I highly disagree. The main downfall to PCs is that before you play that brand spanking new game you just picked up, you gotta first make sure you meet the system requirements, then you have to install it, then of course patch it(if its online) before you even see the startup screen. Console one-up pcs by being simple to use to the average person(and dedicated to playing games): they just buy the game, put it in and it plays. No upgrades needed to play the newest games. Related to the games thing, you'd get bored of games as Popfizz says because you'd have to buy a new one while on PCs there are free games available(Most of which aren't playable for the reason above or lack the quality of "completed" console games). Consoles aren';t failing any time soon unless some cheap supercomputer comes out that doesn't require consistent updates. If anybody thinks console will fail, they should truly consider thinkin again..
Ah, I don't know.

I enjoy my Nintendo Wii. It is very fun, and at the same time, if I don't feel like using their controller, then I can almost always switch back to the Gamecube controller.

Almost every single game I own for the Wii also supports normal Gamecube controllers, if also not the new Playback controller they made.

Not to mention that, the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console is awesome. They have already released a bunch of awesome titles, and even more awesome titles are on the way. Compaired to the Xbox 360's Arcade games, the Virtual Console rocks out loud.

I enjoyed the Xbox 360 while I had it. I really liked Dead Rising and Gears of War. But besides those games, I really didn't enjoy the rest of the current titles on the Xbox 360. Not to mention, I have to have a gold account to play online.

I expect that for like MMO type games, but for a fist person shooter, I shouldn't have to pay them to play it online. I dislike this feature a lot. And Microsoft has only earned my scorn more when I sold my Xbox 360.

Before I sold it, I changed my account to silver instead of Gold and then deleted my account. 5 months later I noticed they were still charging me for the gold account. I called them up and complained.

They asked me, did I not understand the reacurring charges when I signed up? I said, yes, I did, but when I puropsely changed my account to Silver, I assumed that you would stop charging me. I mean, why would I change my account to silver if I wanted to keep paying you people? And they were just like, well we don't.

It made no sense to me, that they allowed me to sign up online and pay for stuff online, all through my Xbox 360. But to cancel any of that, I had to call them up and wait 2 hours on hold.

Since the call was recored I gave them a piece of my mind then hung up.

I don't really see myself getting another Xbox 360 in the near future. They just don't have a large enough support for the game genres I enjoy.

As for the Playstation 3. Well I intend to buy one, partly so I can still play my PS1 and PS2 games, but also because there are a number of PS3 games I'd like to play in the future.

I'd like to point out right now that I infact, do NOT want a PS3 for the blu-ray drive. To me, the new media they come out with, is like VHS tapes to Beta tapes. Another new format of DVD is not needed.

When I have to pay a lot of money for a new media format, I expect it to be NEW. Like freaking holograms or something. Not just a alteration of another format we already have. I already have a DVD player with a huge library of movies. So unless they destroy all DVDs and force us to buy blu-ray format DVDs, I won't be buying into that.

The fact is, Sony always loses money, but a lot of people are saying that Sony is losing a lot more money then they have had in previous years and unless Sony can pick up the sales, that this generation, could possibly be the last generation of video games from Sony. The PSP isn't doing well and neither is the Sony PS3.

I honestly would like to see Sony keep up the good fight, simply because, I have always loved Sony, almost as much as Nintendo.

Not so much, I went to Fry's today and each console got a whole aisle and the PC games got half an aisle.

Blizzard is my favorite company, but they're wrong. They've been around for a while, but the consoles have been around longer (and many of the companies behind them, a LONG time).

Be careful how you word things, you definitely just contradicted yourself:

Blizzard claims that all consoule will fail and I agree

I still belive 360 is a good console, I dont think it will >stop selling.

All in all: Consoles have been around for a while, and the industry is growing stronger. Not weaker. It's really a matter of statistics and playing on numbers.

Actually Gohan a lot of Market Annalists are saying something like that, but not exactly.

They think in the next few years the Gaming Market is going to begin to recline again.

Something about, with the price of video games and the cost of producing technology or some crap like that.

Really in the end, you are going to have two Gamers, PC Gamers and Console Gamers.

Both have their merits. But I also think both have their place. As well as advantages and disadvantages.

For me, I dislike PC Gaming the most. Why? Because of how fast technology progresses and how much of a pain in the butt computers can be.

I bought a computer last year that already can't play some of today's computer games. I hate that.

Also, a lot of the computer games I buy have really nasty glitches and stuff in them.

And while it isn't unheard of, I have much less problems running console games then I do Computer Games, what with all of their system and hardware requirements.

I like to be able to just simply buy a game, put it in, and play. Not have to install it, worry about if my system is good enough and if all my drivers are up to date.

So on that matter, I also agree Blizzard is wrong. But on the other hand, I think next generation of console gaming is going to be a lot different, for better or worse, I have yet to see.

I'm positive the next generation will be oodles different. With the Wii showing that controls dominate fun more than graphics, the other systems will likely try to come up with their own ways to compete.

On the same token, we pretty much have what you said now. People who stick to PCs, and people who stick to consoles. I really go to whichever offers the best game selection at the time. =P Keep in mind that alot of PC gamers are really just PC enthusiasts. You'll find this often. People will build a new rig and then use games to test/show off it's power, I know I've been there.
