I recently switched to Linux because I thought I'd be able to use most of the things, if not all of them, that I could in Windows. And while the Interface is faster, and everything loads faster, I'm having problems with BYOND.

I didn't want to use the Linux version, because there are no graphical displays or anything, so I installed Cedega (Since I was going to have to sooner or later anyway for my other apps). When I run BYOND.exe, its fine. When I run Dream Seeker, it seems to be fine (I havent connected to a game yet) and Dream Maker works fine as far as I could tell, UNTIL I try to load an old enviroment. When I hit, Open Enviroment, it just crashes. No error or anything, it just shuts down.

Has anyone any experience with Cedega and getting BYOND to run on it? At first I tried WINE, but it doesnt work with BYOND at all.
It's easier just to use WINE (I have a tutorial laying somewhere around the forums), either that, or use VMWare to install Windows XP, and just run that (atleast it guarantees everything will work!)

If you could find it, that would be great cause I installed WINE and I installed BYOND on it, but when I try to boot any BYOND stuff on wine, it never actually loads. I can't seem to get it to startup from the terminal either to see if I get any errors.

Well, since all Flame Sage did was sort of organize what Talion Knight did (and I can't even seem to find that), you might as well just go to id=471483 and read through that thread.

Do you know which DLLs he mentioned in that thread? The screenshot or whatever that he used is no longer there and he didn't put the names outside of it. Through the posts the only mention a few of them, but I assume there are more, they are only talking about "forced dlls".

Everything should be at his member page.

I'll repost the tutorial on my BYOND blog later.
I just kind of organized Talion Knight and Adroid Data's work.

Ah, there we go. I extracted the stuff to the drive_c/windows folder and now it loads Dream Maker at least. Thanks.
