I have a DLink router and i have followed the instructions but for some reason i can't get any computers to work with the router any help or how to do this would be appriciated

Did you read everything on portforward.com? Did you unblock the ports on windows firewall? static ip?

Is the router separate from the modem? If so, you will have to change your modem into "Bridge mode"(or something similar). Plug it into your wireless routers WAN port. Then, go to the WAN part of your routers configuration panel. And enter your internet connection details and then you should be good to go.
By setting your modem into bridge mode, you will no longer be able to connect to it's internal IP any more. But, if you ever need to reset it for some obscure reason then there should be a little hole on it somewhere. Please tell me if that doesn't make sense, and I'll make it a bit more clearer. |
