You're being a ridiculous consumer. Why the bloody hell would you demand 3D? I repeatedly made the point that Pokemon works just as well in 2D as it does in 3D, so I'd prefer it if Nintendo worked on other features - like the WiFi battling/trading, for example.

I was really upset when I saw they didn't make the new DS games 3D. I mean, I think it is about time they do it, especially considering the DS CAN do it.

Meh, not making it 3D isn't a big deal. What they should do is just make the tv console games higher quality and keep the handheld ones 2d. Seriously, having it 2d is not affecting gameplay..Its a working formula that pretty much is unnecessary to better the series. The console pokemons are for those who want it in 3d, if you don't want 2d, don't play the handheld.

"2d is not affecting gameplay.."

That is a matter of opinion. For me, this time around it does.

Yeah it is a matter of opinion. Apparently, it being 2d diddnt stop the two versions from selling millions. If you want 3d, buy the console games. If Nintendo thought 3d would affect the gameplay so much that no one would buy it being 2d, they would have done it..But apparently not; and they were correct. Like someone elsesaid, making something 3d doesn't automatically make it better. Let's say for instance, they cut down on fetaures jus to make it 3d..Would you want that crap over a feature packed 2d game? If so, that'd be pretty dumb. Anyways, it ain't 3d but its like sorta 3d but 2d. What more can you ask for?

3D, thats what I can ask for.

You could, but that would be a stupid thing to ask for, just because. Checkbox features are always useless. If some particular gameplay doesn't lend itself well to 3D or gains no advantage from being 3D, then it better not be 3D just for the heck of it. If the system doesn't need to waste its power on needless 3D, those resources can be spent elsewhere. Ex: antialiasing, partial transparency, and cool graphical effects. Seriously. Why waste time on three-dee when it does nothing and you could spend the time on something better?

No, what is stupid is not asking for 3D

I like how you read 11% of my post, and then replied.

Besides, 2D is a matter of opinion that a lot of people agree with. If they didn't, why would there be 2D games, since nobody would be buying them, and the game developers wouldn't make any money.

No but that is my entire point, people are going to have differing ideas and I can easily see your view, but when a person turns around and tell me my own opinion is stupid, then why should I be any more willing to accept anyone else's opinion?

If you read my post, you'd know that I was saying that 3D for 3D's sake is stupid. 3D is a means, and not and end. When it's treated as simply a feature to check off, to say you have it, then the entire game suffers. Same with any other feature added just because it's the current fad.

You're advocating that the game must be 3d no matter what, since you say that 2D is affecting gameplay negatively. You haven't elaborated on your position. Nor have you said how simply by being 3D, the game would be made better. There's a large market for 2D pokemon games, in the style that Nintendo's making them. Changing the gameplay around could involve increased sales, or it could involve lower sales. By having a set of handheld games 2D, and a set on the consoles that are 3D, Nintendo manages to make money from both groups.

Nope, the NDS cart can only hold 1 Gigabit or 128 MBs.

In a reply to this: I have a Pokemon Diamond rom sitting on my desktop right now, and guess how big it is? 128 MBs. 3D will not work with Pokemon on the NDS because of size issues.

Technically 2-D graphics are affecting gameplay in a negative way in the fact that the younger market knows that the advancements available right now ala a few games on the DS currently, on the PSP, on the consoles, as well as in movies and normal television have evolved into a world where 3-D thrives over 2-D.

One of the only 2-D major brand franchises that still insists on 2-D for some of their work is Castlevania, and they do that because it's easier for the style of system they would require. But even then they incorporate a 2-D viewpoint with 3-D graphics in their upcoming game as stated in an interview I had read recently.

Yes, fads may come and go in game design, but the current technology just slowly improves(less you have a nuclear war or something like that to wipe out all of our electronics) and in turn the businesses that thrive around the world using technology must either learn to cope or fail trying to hold onto a classic style of play.

Although some games do seem better when they aren't altered too far, such as the way the Suikoden games migrated, the 2-D graphics are still considered far superior in the way that camera angles effect you harshly in a 3-D environment and polycounts can really effect the quality. Perhaps Pokemon would do great with 3-D graphics but retain the viewpoint perspective it currently has, but as well I have actually seen pictures of sprite-art people have done with an isometric based Pokemon world.

Just threw some stuff in the wading pool.
