I am 5 8' and weigh 160. I want to slim down some more for senior week, so im thinking about taking this dietary supplement called TRI - METHY LEAN. Im wondering if i stop taking this within 2 weeks or so if my metabolism will slow down alot, and i will almost be dependant on these pills to stay slim. The back also says individuals who consume caffeine with this product may experience serious adverse health effects. Does this mean i cant ever have caffeine while this pill, or simply not to take the pill with a coke to wash the pill down. The directions say to drink with a full glass of water 30 minutes before a meal.
I would suggest avoiding it.

And it means that you shouldn't have caffeine while taking it, at all.

Didn't that like kill Anna Nicole or some crap like that?
Don't take any. Just eat/drink healthy and exercise.

Last I heard, it was a bunch of prescription medication that shouldn't be mixed.
Yeah what the others said, just eat and exercise right. You don't need to take pills. Besides, from the way I read it, you got something going on soon and you want to get slim fast. Guess what, it doesn't work like that. And if/when it does, it usually has very bad side effects.

On a side note about mixing caffeine with pills I used to drink Mountain Dew and Take Stacker II pills (the good kind with all the efedrin) and my heart would beat so fast it felt like it would burst out of my chest, I couldn't even sleep. I would just stay up for days at a time.

ye, it sounds like caffeine pills you got there. I'd stay away, that stuff's pretty nasty.

When you are taking a pill, always take it with water. You never know what can happen if you mix things. Also, if you are trying to lose weight quick, or just to lose weight for that matter, why would you drink soda? If you excerise, eat healthy, then drink soda, you just ruined everything.
First off, two weeks for a diet the most you could hope to lose to change your appearance would be 10 pounds(ish) of water weight and maybe a couple pounds of fat however in order to do that you'd need to cut out any 'empty calories' ie, soda etc.
eat lots of healthy food and run alot you could drop a fair ammount of weight, but you have to do cardiovascular intensive activites for 30 + minutes to start burning fat. that means running for 30 minutes. regretabbly if you're unfit(which you seem to be) you won't be able to start off running this long so chances are you're boned. learn to live a healthier lifestyle though and you will be able to drop the weight in no time.

It's really tempting to try some of the cheaper miracle pills you find in your local drug stores, but if history's the teacher, I'd highly advise against it.

It seems like every other weight loss pill released ends up killing people in 10 years. I don't think it's worth the risk, and they usually require you to take it for a prolonged amount of time or risk gaining the weight back.

The funny thing is, they often do make people lose weight. They just usually end up killing people too.

If you want to lose weight fast, a smart strict diet and lots and lots of aerobic exercise will do the trick. You'll suffer quite a bit, but you'll be more pleased with the results. Pills are a crap shoot for whether they'll work or not.
You don't seem to be improving much on the bad idea front here. Pills like that are freakin' dangerous, and frankly 160 is not a bad weight for a man at that hight. Diet pills work by speeding up your metabolism to a dangerous point, which is why they all say you need to avoid caffeine--it presents a very very serious interaction risk. Not to mention, there are still subtle ways that these products can include ephedra-like compounds without breaking the FDA ban.

ephedra is AWESOME. If you wanna lose weight super stupid crazy, just take nothing but ephedra based weight loss pills and drink water. NOTHING ELSE. I also suggest mixing 3 or 4 different kinds of pills, that way you get the best of all worlds.

How wrong you are. I wrestle for varsity and am in great shape. I run 5 miles a day.

I hate to say this but if he has two weeks it wont. Aerobic exercise isn't that great for weight loss to begin with, but even on a proper program and eating right two weeks probably wont result in any physical change.

The only way he's going to get a visible result in such a short period of time is to use a dodgy 'miracle diet' which will do more harm than good. Odds are next year he'll find him self having to loose even more weight if he takes those paths. I really don't recommend anything that will get him instant results.
Instead hit the gym, do things right and this time next year you wont be having the same problem.

You'll be the slimmest corpse the mortician has ever seen!

I assume you're being silly, because starving yourself normally does make you thin - regardless if pills are involved or not.
In response to Jp
Yeah, but starving your self for that long is also dangerous.

If you don't start eating slowly and healthy, your body can go into shock, possibly even have a stroke.

Starvation for any period, is dangerous, stupid and pointless.

Yeah, but sometimes it's needed.
