Yess....finally some treatment for my "lung cancer". Hahaha just kiddin, drugs suck.
Interesting, the article stated that it also reduced the sizes/occurances of tumors/lesions. If it pans out it would definitely be a nice alternative to Radiation/Chemical therapy for cancer patience. On the down side though, it can help other kinds of cancer, so it unfortunately isn't great for treatment of any cancer.
Yeah, yeah. Just another story about how the herb is legal for mice but not for me. Screw mice.

You suck.
"Preet says much work is needed to clarify the pathway by which THC functions, and cautions that some animal studies have shown that THC can stimulate some cancers. "THC offers some promise, but we have a long way to go before we know what its potential is," she said."

It's also important to point out that it's not marijuana cutting the cancer growth... it's marijuana's active ingredient, THC, being injected. Taking smoke into your lungs is all around a bad thing.

Mmm. That headline was really badly worded. Someone just scanning the headlines would think "oh, they mean smoking marijuana" - which is what I thought they meant initially.

They really should have said "THC", not "Marijuana".

They Injected it
Medical Marijuana is stupid anyway
You could just extract the medical stuff and drug smokers couldn't use it as a reason to smoke

You can always bake it into brownies

Couldn't you vaporise or eat it for the benefits?

The THC dose would be lower and harder to control (making it less effective) and you'd get burnt crap all over the inside of your lungs. Not a good idea.

Besides, these are only preliminary results, which should not be relied upon when making decisions about medical treatment. More experiments need to be performed first. Even if the experimental result holds up to repeated trials, it's still not confirmed whether THC affects human cancer cells in humans in the same way that it affects human cancer cells in mice. There could be something special about mice that makes it work in them, whereas it doesn't work in humans as-is.

And finally, this only concerns a specific type of lung cancer, of which there are several. There are many many different types of cancer, and what works against one type may not work against another type. Treatments effective against one type of cancer may even be detrimental against other types.

The bottom line is, if you're suffering from cancer, don't try to treat it by yourself... get professional advice.

If somebody had cancer and knew it, I HOPE they get professional advice and let them treat it... I can't think of somebody being THAT stubborn!

"Oh, hey Jack, what's up?"

"Nothing much, I woke up this morning and knew I had cancer."

"Ouch, that must suck!"

"Yeah, but I smoked a joint and it went away! Yay for me and my stubborness!"

of course people forget that just not smoking anything at all cuts out lung cancer tumors altogether since it wouldn't be there in the first place (atleast not there due to smoking).

but then again, common sense seems to be at a premium in the current generation.

Yeah, I hate how people forget that just not stabbing themselves would cut out wounds altogether since they wouldn't be there in the first place (atleast not there due to stabbing).
