I've decided to check out Kubuntu. I'm using it right now in fact. Before Kubuntu, i mostly used windows. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments? Or know a better distro? I got Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu because I like KDE better and I was too lazy to get Ubuntu and then download KDE :P
please....don't turn this into a flame war....

First, I'd like to invite you to join the BYOND Linux guild, where we discuss Linux as it relates to BYOND. You're welcome to ask us any number of questions about Kubuntu, KDE, Linux, etc -- at least 3 KDE users browse those forums.
Welcome to the dark side... and keep an eye out for Richard Stallman. He takes gleeful pleasure in popping out of a pipe to hit you over the sed with an awk. |

heh, then my first question would be on beryl. So far I've
-installed -got it working -customized -got beryl to start up on login but....after I log in, KDE is still the window manager. After every boot I have to select beryl as the window manager. How can I change this so that beryl will automatically be the default window manager? gotta love beryl with SE :P |

In the terminal you can run...
beryl --replace or simply let beryl-manager boot up at startup everytime. (which is a better solution I think) |

Yes, running
beryl --replace will have beryl start as default. I would keep both of them (beryl and beryl-manager) running though at startup. |
