I'll admit, most of the multi-console releases do feel like PS2 ports. Need For Speed was horrible! Worst port ever.

Especially with all the ugly NPCs. I'm half tempted to run around and equip them all with helmets just so I don't have to look at them.

The best part of the PC version is that you can mod their faces :D

The faces aren't THAT bad are they D:?
They don't look pretty or anything like that and they usually do look fat but I mean come on, look in the mirror, faces do tend to look like that.

I don't know about the console versions, but the lighting in the face was horrible for PC. It was so bad that it was hard to play the game, any time someone talked with just a little lighting, it went crazy. I think it might have been my graphics card, but still. The faces themselves weren't that well textured.

Well I felt that, while the faces didn't look the best, that it was more realistic then a lot of other games, that give a unrealistic idea of fantastic beauty. I thought they looked just fine. I really didn't like the way my own player looked, but I always played in first person anyways, so it didn't bother me.

Heh. Ever wanted to play as an Ian McKellen-lookalike mage? Now you can.

(The Patrick Stuart one is hilarious.)

As for Guitar Hero having more stuff if it used Blu-Ray, I cry BS. The ability to store data on a HD makes any game infinatly bigger. I mean, you can download the entire PS2 Hero 1 library on Xbox Live.

The difference between PS3 and XBOX 360 storage is what, 40GB (using the largest, most expensive DVD disc and the standard Blu-Ray disc)? Downloading 40GB of game when you get home isn't fun. For a lot of people it's just not possible. The highest capacity XBOX 360 HDD is only large enough to do that for three games.
Not to mention that people will insist on breaking up that data into packs and selling it to the user.

I doubt we'll see many games use the full capacity of Blu-Ray for quite some time but even if they're only using 12GB they'll be able to make larger, better looking games out of the box. Even if everyone had magic modems that could download the extra content in a matter of minutes it would still be a massive advantage.

'It also plays games!"

Yeah a lot of people get that, you had to turn of one of the shadow options, self-shadows I think.

While they're not super realistic they do display as intended on XBOX 360. The only light issue is that their wrinkles are a bit too well lit.
I swear, if it wasn't for the guards being annoying and the fact you can only KO half the NPCs I would actually attempt to kill every single NPC in the game. Now that's an achievement! =P
In response to DarkView
Actually that is my favorite aspect of Fallout. haha.
In response to DarkView
But see, you CAN kill every npc it just takes balls, alot of potions and way too much time.
In response to WarLin
No you can't, not in Oblivion. Main NPCs, ones that are required to progress the game in some fashion, only get KO'ed.

Imagine the next Guitar Hero game uses a full Blu-Ray disc. It simply wont be feasible to port that to the XBOX 360. So the XBOX 360 is going to have to keep developers wanting to develop exclusively for it.

In my opinion the best resource for Guitar Hero would be the internet. As long as you could continuously download new content for the game, the amount of songs available would be only restricted to the size of the harddrive of your console.

Each song would only be about the size of an mp3 too, as the data on when to press the buttons would be absolutely tiny.

Really?
Oh man...
Thats a total jip.
Oh well, its not like I'd notice, I spend my time beheading guards all day and night.
In response to WarLin
You know that brings up a question, is there a limited supply of city guards or do they keep respawing? I thought about trying to clear out all of the guards of a city once, but wasn't sure if it would work or not.

And they could continuously charge your credit card. =P

I might give it a shot tonight. I've gone on a rampage or two but I get bored pretty quick when everyone is just getting KOed. Speaking of which, the KO time is way too short. You knock someone out they get straight back up again. They should be out for at least a couple of hours game-time.
It sort of annoys me that they went through the effort of making it so that every NPC lives it's life then just made the guards generic NPCs who do nothing but patrol.
Having off duty guards walking around would be cool. Ten or so guards per town, five on duty at a time. Kill one and a week later it respawns a new guard with a different body and name. If crime goes up maybe they'll send in more.

By the time PS3 finnally catches up, new hardware will be out. So screw blu-ray and HD-DVD
