Recently everyone has been saying Sony sucks and their console is going to fail. No one can save Sony now.
This E3 made Sony the hot topic for all hardcore gamers.
Nintendo's Booth
Nintendo mainly focused on the mainstream audience and trying to get new players, forsaking their roots in favor for less fun and intriguing games.
Super Mario Galaxy -
Probably the only game that I want to play besides Super Mario Kart... Gnarly. However, I don't consider this deep gameplay at all. Its simply adding in a silly new novelty. I hope this won't hurt Mario at all!

Super Mario Kart(the wii thing) -
Oh yes, everyone loves super mario kart. They took out the doubles system this time... thats sad. They added in a new wheel you can drive with... ew... Anyways. It looks awesome. I'm just afraid of the Online play. Will it be as constricting as the DS's online?

Wii Fit -
BY THE GODS WHY! MIYAMOTO STOP IT NOW!! STOP THE FREAKIN' MADNESS!
Microsofts Booth
While I didn't get to see this one because I don't like to stay up until one in the morning to see X-Box stuffs I heard it focused on what happened so far in the X-Box market and a few insights into the future, one of which was the trailer for RE5.
Sony's Booth
Sony blew me away. Heres why:
Killzone 2- Sure its shallow just because it has EFFING SWEET GRAPHICS. But does it matter really? All fpses need awesome graphics and you freakin' know it... except for Doom :3.
Unreal Tournament 3 - EXLUSIVE TO THE PS3!!! Gnarly as hell. And god forbid they add Player mods.... WELL THEY DID! You can download player mods to your ps3 and play them! Holy CRAP! Take that Microsoft!(yeah they still have a big edge)

Heavenly Sword - A god of war ripoff but a beautiful one at that. This game is also a PS3 exclusive.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Hideo Kojima calls it quits on the MGS series after this game, good thing he made it damn tasty. Also a PS3 exclusive... at least for awhile. The trailer for this game and the fight between Vamp and Raiden was freaking sweet! Oh my GOD!

PS Revamps -
Remember those old games for the Playstation. Sony's giving them all revamps on the graphics and the colision and everything else you can think of. They're downloadable on the PS Network.

Socom -
A new downloadable Socom is coming to the ps3 network as well. If I heard right its also exclusive. It looks pretty gnarly.

Sony's Playstation Network Games-
Sony is also sporting a new variety of games streaming from puzzle to all the games we know and love.

PSP Gets pimpin' -
While this absolutely pissed me off I guess its alright because nintendo has been doing the same thing since the Gameboy. Releasing a newer, ligher version that has better batteries. Sony did this with the psp(dammit >_>) and added in a fun feature to see your psp on the tv screen.

While sony might not get all of the new gamers the old ones will definitely be begging for a PS3. The games, the graphics, the ingenuity its all Sony this E3 and by god it looks like a good year for my PS3. I might just be saying this because I HAVE a ps3 but I have to tell you, Sony dazzled my ass.

Peace
-Warlin

P.S.
I forgot to mention. Blockbuster is dropping the HD-DVD format in favor of the Blu-Ray? What does this mean? Sony EFFING WINS. Blockbuster is the god of all movie rentals and sony hooked them. Ohh... better luck next time Microsoft. You still have your computers and the 360 though... mmm 360...
This looks like Sony's final stand. And I must say, as of now, looks like they are finally prepared for war. =)

Final stand? God I hope not. the minute my 600 hardware becomes useless Sony gets hurt.

You gave a real crap summary of Nintendo's E3. Nintendo's E3 may not have showed many games but it showed hardware to make those games much better and the wii. If anything, Nintendo makes game that you can never got bored of, i mean look at double dash, super smash and Mario tennis and some more. Nintendo wii will not just have that same effect but more and better games. The hardware will give the wii that extra fire power and it -will- broadens Nintendo's consumer base. Wii offers people who may never have played games or never took games seriously to start. This may lead them to get into something more hardcore and probably pick up a 360 or a PS3.
The nintendo wii is different. It isn't just a superkit of its predecessor.
I'm gonna have to agree with Nish, although Nintendo didn't show much, you didn't exactly put them in a neutral light compared to Sony, even though it is what your thread is about.
I may not be a Sony hater either, but even with all that cool looking stuff(I admit, even though I'm a avid Nintendo fan) still doesn't justify the PS3's price for me personally. Mainly because it won't fit in my budget..
Otherwise, I hear the same stuff about Wii Fit. I myself think its a cool idea; I most likely won't be picking up the game to actually play it, but the controller has alot of potential in other games.

[edit]
You also failed to mention that the Wii's Medal of Honor game will have up to 32 players..Hopefully, they don't mean npcs..x.x

Nintendos games boast that they have deep gameplay but they're really shallow party games. I don't need that. I need something fun that will last me a long time. Give me one example of a Wii game that has deep gameplay and explain why. None of this, "Omfg I can shake my wiimote". No dammit I want a game with a tough base that doesn't bank on cheap tricks. Until I see that I suggest you shut up.

The PS3s hardware is far beyond that of the wiis and has loads more potential as such I don't rationally think that the wii will ever be 'hard-core' because if it is then by that time the PS3 and 360 will have made better games for people like me.

I understand that Nintendo is trying to get new players to play but forsaking what their original games were in turn for cheap tricks pisses me off. Unless Nintendo can wow a gamer like me with games that are actually awesome and provides more than cheap thrills. I doubt I will ever buy another Nintendo product.

I used to like nintendo, I have every one of their systems up to the gamecube. It breaks my heart what they're doing right now.

Try playing Wii tennis for 13 hours straight and tell me you're not bored.

I can name one that I actually played: DBZ Tenkaichi 2; technically though its a port but still a Wii game that actually fulfileld what it taut..It actually did last me about 60 hours for the story alone, not including the other modes. I can prolly name another game that can "last a while" and has "deep" gameplay in August: Metroid Prime.

But see, heres the thing.
Back in the old days when nintendo was still awesome we had an abundance of first party produced games by nintendo that rocked. They're fading away fast and I'm not too happy about that.

They still got plenty first party games, they're jsut kinda slow. This being my first time gettin a system at launch, I've been told that its always like this: slow getting games to come out, people getting bored and etc. Personally, I don't see much a difference(I didn't buy too many of their franchises for GC), they're just making more casual franchises. I don't care about some of their franchises(the ones I do, already have games coming out for in the coming months or has to be in development), I mainly stick with 3rd party which will obviously introduce newer ones.

Seriously thinking back to even last years E3, the only difference that comes to mind is the appearance of casual games. Not less "hardcore" games.

I'd say if you have two or three legitimate good titles in almost a whole years time and your market share is subpar at best, this is your final stand.

And if you wouldn't like to read my outlook on the what could've been the PS3 release, just skip to the end of the 'box'.

Instead of releasing the PS3 this year, at the current price, when big name titles would've arrived and with more just right around the holiday corner, they threw it into the lions den. I wouldn't like to see Sony fail, but it wouldn't have been so bad for them if they avoided the Wii-Mania and Gears of War storm. (Which probably resulted in a surplus of PS3 trade-ins)

They could've gave the game developers we saw last season an extra year to further the content, which would've made the games better. (Maybe even elevating a handful to a 'good' status)

And then this year the talk would be about the PS3 dropping with an opening line consisting of:
Madden 2008, Socom: Confrontation, Grand Theft Auto IV, Resistance: Fall of Man, NBA Live 2008, Haze, Motorstorm, Lair, Guitar Hero III, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and Call of Duty 4. (Few big name titles grabbed from a list, teehee)

The previous titles would've more than held us off until: eaSkate(I'm no skateboard fan, but this game looks good!), Unreal Tournament 3, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Turismo 5, Resident Evil 5, and perhaps some other titles that may come from nowhere to surprise people.

** I understand the odds that the stars would've aligned like this for Sony would've been like winning the lottery, but the risk would've been well worth the reward.

But in large part to upcoming titles, I'd say there has definitely been signs of life on Planet PS3, who knows, if things line up...Maybe they will find more than signs of life. Perhaps a few civilizations, and it's own solar system? =)

Sure I might not know what I'm talking about, but this is just how I see it. =P

Yeah it better be; I'm just slightly skeptical since they only said up to 32 players..I'd be pretty pissed if it were NPCS..

Nintendo games do have deep gameplay. If we talk about GC, mario kart double dash and mario tennis kept me playing for a long time. I actually still play double dash and melee when my friends are around nearly all that time since we have developed some sort of rivalry >_>. And im sure anyone with these games on GC know this. Now to me that is what a good game brings. It is like...some sort of battle where you really want to beat your mates and such, and i believe nintendo does that well. And i agree the wii games by nintendo haven't been that impressive but damn supersmash brawl, mario kart wii and metroid will change your mind (When they are released). There are good third party games coming out soon to add to wiis game firepower.

And why are you basing PS3 Potential and Wiis potential due to its hardware? They both have different tmgs and their hardwares are built specifically for their target market group. Wii has already shown its popularity and its new up-coming hardware, and i think it is different.

And i truely believe the new wii games of mario galaxy and metroid and such will be the classics e.g. mario 64

And you must have no friends to play wiisports for 13 hours by yourself. No wonder you got bored. Its a great game to bring out when the family/friends are about.

Twilight Princess.

Pwnt.

Wow! They can render stuff that looks exactly the same as Wii graphics in a TENTH OF THE TIME!

Computer game graphics are already well beyond the point of diminishing returns. So what if the PS3 is faster? It's completely irrelevant.

Provide me with an example of a single current PS3 game with deep gameplay. Not some generic FPS, an actual decent game that's not just "Wow, we has the graphics!".
Nobody wants to hear about why a rabid fanboy loves sony.
In response to Kunark
Rabid? I wouldn't go that far. The Wii has some good games. Just not many. I'd much rather have a 360 because that seems to be the place capcom holds its money and you can't go wrong with capcom.
I'm more of a Capcom lover than anything.
In response to Nishiatsu
I don't play tennis for 13 hours. Thats the point.
However, lets not turn this into a flame war. I don't need that.

Wii does show popularity for its target group but its forgetting gamers like me thats my point. A few games here and there just isn't going to cut it.
Knifo? Is.. is that you?
In response to Smoko
Haha no. But from what he said it looks like sony did what they had to do. Impress the gamers. Although I have to say if they really wanted to catch peoples eye they would have anounced a remake of final fantasy 7 at E3. That would have blown everyone away and defenetly attracted old fans.
