How is nintendo not concentrating on hard core gamers? Isn't mario kart one in eyes of a nintendo fan along with super smash brawl and metroid? Not forgetting battalion wars 2 and some good "hard core games" from third party developers from Capcom and its whole franchise of resident evil and Suda51. Also soul calibur legends seems one like too. Also Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire looks pretty awesome too. And someone posted earlier about Medal of Honor's 32 multiplayer seems like a killer. Does Final Fantasy crystal bearers not appeal to you at all? Or do over made WW2 Games really get you going? They certainly don't for me. Ghost Squad makes a return to wii too, taking full advantage of the wiizapper. The point nintendo is making is that, even if nintendo produced 5 hard core games, that is enough to give you a life long enjoyment and intense gameplay. How does brawl differ to any "hard core game"? Ohmygod they have pokemons in it ;( therefore it is not hardcore, bullcrap. End of the day, super smash will always be a hard core game, you have tournaments all around the world for games like that. People compete to literally thrash their opponents to show who is boss. Oh wait, how many games there did i mention where for kids? Probably two, but even those games are not mean for kids, more like teenagers.
The wii console has certainly made its money worth.
And let me get this point to you, Sony had probably the hardest work to do at E3, why? One their main competitor in their TMG (Microsoft's XBOX 360) already has the lead and has way more games for it's console. And good quality games. Sony had no choice but to offer their best at e3 or it was byebye for PS3.
WiiWare also becomes available in 2008 which will get gamers to generate and make ideas for the console.
To me, nintendo wii is an entertainment system; it offers laughter, enjoyment and wide variety (well soon) of games. And nintendo is hitting hard for christmas. It will give the hard core gamers the yes to buy the wii since nintendo is launching some killer titles.

But see, what Wii doesn't have are the cooler games that people like me live and die for:
Halo 3 Resident Evil 5(which I'm sure the Wii Disc can't hold~) Lost Planet Fear Haze God of War Heavenly Sword Gears of War Unreal Tournament III Do you see what I'm getting at here?I LOVE VIOLENT GAMES! I EFFING LOVE THEM! Immature I'm sure but after I get really pissed off theres only two options for a man like me. Beating someone up or playing a good violent game. I don't see anything juicy for the Wii. They have pretty games and I'm sad I'll be missing brawl but damn them for taking out Dr. Mario so meh. Mario Kart is always gnarly. I never cared for the 3-D metroids but by god if they make another 2-D one I'll eat it up like candy. The thing is Sony did alot of work and I'm sure it was their last stand but Nintendo did [expletive deleted] and so did Microsoft. If Sony brought out the big guns Nintendo and Microsoft better get it together because Sony is ready to duel it out for gamers like me who love violence and the old classics. Speaking of which... I wonder if Vertical Scrollers are dead. I'd love to see one on the PS3. |

Because the wii has a different target audience.
Ohh and im sure you felt like you wanted to commit suicide when you heard manhunt 2 was banned. "metroids but by god if they make another 2-D one I'll eat it up like candy.". How can you even say that, okay your saying you prefer the classics but even people from back then rate metroid prime corruption 3. I got a nintendo wii because i like those nintendo games, and i feel that the games they made on their previous consoles are awesome. |
That Blockbuster stuff is old news. I was watching E3 Live last night and none of the consoles are doing bad at all. Wii gets all those cool new gadgets, Xbox 360 gets Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Bioshock. PS3 gets all of those wonderful games you've mentioned and Call of Duty 4 (hell yes!).
It's gonna be close, seeing as how Call of Duty 4 is for both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, everyone likes the Wii (and it's cheap), and the Xbox and Playstation both have epic games. Sony has definitely started out slow, but the new games for it are going to make everyone want one. Go Sony! |

The PS3 (as a piece of hardware) was always worth the price. But, being a bad piece of hardware because of the lack of good games, I guess you can say it wasn't worth buying, but the PS3 has always been worth the price.

What you and other people don't understand is that the Wii has become like the iPod.
Even if it is not the 'best' system, even if it does not have the 'best' games, even if it screws up in the future doesn't matter. It's what's hip and trendy, it will sell and it will sell better than anything else. I mean I know 16 year old girls, the very group that is least likely to play video games who are going crazy trying to find one. |

Wait... which games do you never get bored of? 0.o
Those games are good for multiplayer, but not for countless hours of video-gaming in singleplayer mode. That's where the other two systems come in. I like Nintendo and what they're doing, but their games don't seem like they're going to be that great this time around. I like the traditional console gaming where one uses a controller and not nunchucks. I've never liked those racing wheels, but I am really interested in seeing how accurate that light-gun thing is for the Wii. Y'know, it looks like an SMG. Anyway, I'd probably like their products more if they still had Rare. Oh, Conker's Bad Fur Day, you gave me hours of fun while hanging out at my friend's house. Rare might be able to pull things together, because as of now, third-party games for Nintendo just aren't that good. Also, replying to the wrong post is like talking to a wall. |

Power means a number of things:
1. More fun and action-packed games. 2. More realistic games for people who like them. 3. Shorter load times. Those are just the three at the top of my head. Blu-Ray provides for better graphics because more data can be stored on the disc. That also means longer and more in-depth games. I don't think anyone is going to use the entire capacity of that disc for a long time. |

Hardly any of the games the Wii has is for a "hardcore gamer". Some of the games coming out for the Wii in the near future will be, though.
You do know that the 32-player Medal of Honor is for the Wii, right? |

Well gosh, that sure wasn't a lot of screaming fanboy drivel.
Nintendo mainly focused on the mainstream audience and trying to get new players, forsaking their roots in favor for less fun and intriguing games. No wait, it was. Sony didn't shut up anyone who's down on their system, although their recent price drop will certainly do them no harm. What they apparently did do, though, was whip the fanboys into a frenzy--which is about as difficult as spilling a beer. At least you and Knifo aren't both harping on the PS3's hunger-ending cancer-curing Hilton-taming glory these days. [edit] Looks like it isn't a price cut after all. They're just clearing out the 60GB units to make way for the 80's. I was kinda wondering how 20GB of storage could justify a $100 price difference in this day and age. Oh, and the new model won't be backward compatible with PS1 or PS2. The price of being a fanboy just went up--even higher. Lummox JR |

Rabid? I wouldn't go that far. No, indeed you wouldn't. Rabies does tend to affect judgment. Any objective look over your posting history, even just your main post in this thread, shows you're positively drooling over the PS3 but have disdain for the Wii, and are generally up on or neutral to the 360. You are indeed a rabid fanboy. Actually I'm not sure there is any other kind. To read your thread as anything but another fanboy screed is to misread it entirely. It certainly can't claim anything close to objectivity. Lummox JR |

I see what you're getting it(its even all over the Nintendo forums '-.-). But probably not even half of the 60(as said at E3) Wii games are for "hardcore" gamers. Probably not even 100 of the 300 DS gmaes are casual either.
