I'm not a delevoper in byond I'm just a player....
but as delphi developer I think there is a good way to stop this...
very simple...
I don't now how it works but I think it's possible to code in a game something like a spamm check...a word that you need to write when you are connecting to the game server...
the problem is... all coders will have to work again on theyr games....
but....
if another version of BYOND comes with this feature coders won't need to change theyr games

Sounds like a personal problem between the game creator and it's players. I don't think this is really an important issue and if you really want to avoid the problem get rid of login/logout messages. And/or have it store when players login/logout and if they do it too often then disciplinary actions will be taken. Login/logout words seems like such a hassle, I hate having to do verification codes when I sign up for things, and I sure wouldn't like it if games started doing it.

I agree that verification words are a hassle. There are plenty of ways as a developer to create a system to prevent abbuse of rapid login/logouts without inconviencing the majority of a game's player base.
Edit: I'm on my laptop, no firefox = no spellchecker, sorry. :) |
