Well i got this really old computer running win98 (it was loaded with viruses so i wiped the hard-drive) and i have no idea what to do with it. I was thinking of turning the old bucket in to a shell sever that I could make some kind of money off but that sounds like work -_-. So i was just wanting any ideas on what i could do with it?

Specs:

366 MHz
4.3 GB harddrive
40x CD rom
ATI 3D Rage Pro Turbo
2x AGP graphics.

Play Rayman. It'll do it far better than some modern super computer could (also: Rayman is the best game ever).

If by "best ever" you mean a horribly hard platforming game that looks like some toddler ate a box of crayons and then puked all over the screen, then yeah.

Rayman was still at the point of classic 2D platformers, where for some damn reason or another, developers thought it was a good idea to make games extremely hard with instant death pit falls and spikes that kill you in one hit. Not really a part of gaming I really care to remember.

Although I must admit, Rayman did have nice music in it.

If it has more than 64MB of RAM you can probably stick Ubuntu on it, my Ubuntu system isn't much better than what you posted and it runs smooth.
You can probably start by buying a new processor and maybe a new harddrive. You didn't post your RAM.

Your mind and reflexes have been softened by the endless respawn points of today's FPSes!

Yeah, the music's lovely. :)

You could easily turn that into a web-server but you might want to put at least 128mb ram in it. Also you could try Xubuntu or Ubuntu lite.
