I have a problem here. I just installed an ATI Radeon X1300/X1500 driver. It works fine, but BYOND is very slow (and hogs 75% of the CPU compared to the 5% without the driver)
I'm not using OpenGL (Hell, yesterday I actually MANAGED to get OpenGL working with BYOND... but now I got the driver, it don't) and I'm looking for ways to speed up BYOND, while trying to get back my 2 hours of OpenGL glory, while in 16 bit mode trying to give BYOND maximum performance (You can tell it didn't work, when you look at how it should)
Any ideas? The rest of the computer runs fine 32 bit and 16.

Are you going to be not-supporting OpenGL as much anymore, or will the DX and OpenGL paths be updated in parallel?

As much as I hate to say it, I wouldn't have expected a good-looking Linux version in the next few years, even with OpenGL. OpenGL was one step towards it, but the custom interfaces were five steps back from it. |

The Linux version doesn't use either. It's text-only.

The next version (coming out today) uses DirectX, which should be more compatible.
