Skippy, they are professionals. I know that Lummox has two degrees in computer science (one for programming and the other one I forget) and I believe that I remember hearing someone say Shadowdarke has a college degree too. As well, they both work on DM language. Not in, but on, as in the compiler and all that good stuff that people write their code in and play their games on. They helped make that, so they aren't just some ameteurs doing it when they're bored.

If you can't come up with a better retort to the fact that these FMA people aren't going to outprogram Shadowdarke, then just give up now.

If you mean Lummox and ShadowDarke? They are currently working on BYOND. As in the compiler, IDE, and client.
