what is ripping is it taking other people games or is it rebuilding an game? o_0 i dont understand why you people think a combination of 5 Dbz game with the owners permission is an rip o_0
okay, ripping is like taking something from another game and putting it into your own game, people normally rip other peoples games and then try to say its their own 100% coded by their self, which is untrue.
also RIPPING IS BAD... just making sure you know.. ^_^

anyone else want to contribute to this?
1st of all...wrong section....2nd...ripping is when you take someone else's source to a game and passing it off as your own

ok i thought ripping was stealing the game , what if the owner of the game hands it over o_0

In a way IT IS stealing since you don't have the owner's permission but when the owner hands it over then it isn't but then you have two games that look the same and people might assume one of them is a rip.

Extactly why i am posting this to tell people that Dragon Ball United Nation is no Rip the 5 games that we are combining with were unpublished and was given to us by the owners

and is recontructing an game consider an rip?

I'd really just suggest starting fresh and making your own game with your own code. That way it's really 100% original

Ok we will do that

First: ....an game? an rip? recontructing? grammar ew moment.

Second: Yes, it is. Simple as that. "Rip" in your case is the noun form. You may not have "Ripped" by STEALING the code, but you made a "Rip" by using the code and calling it your own. Editting what someone else gave you is still ripping because YOU did not make it and you are using EXACTLY what they gave you to make a game.

Now, while you said you're using more than one source, I might say this is, in fact, worse. You're "ripping" MORE than one game. So you're technically ripping more to fill in gaps that, even rippers of today, would use to actually learn.

I'll also note that even if you gave the owners credit, you didn't make it. It's not yours. It's a rip.

there are certain cases in which its ok to use someone else's source such as in open source games/engines/coding (in fact some devs may put games under licenses such as the gpl which can allow modifying and distribution but this doesnt cover byond since it isn't open source though you are welcome to say/do what you want with your games
but flat out saying you did everything isnt a good thing to do if you have used other sources
in fact most byond libs require notices that you used them
