I have never had a 'OMG EXCLUSIVE' mentality, I was just pointing out that exclusives can be a system seller. I'd prefer there to be no exclusives if you ask me.

XNS requires you to be a paying member to develop for it or to use it, which is totally lame if you ask me. Also, last time I read, it costs $150.00 a year. That is a little too expensive for me. The only people who should be interested in that, are normal developers anyways, who might want something published to the Xbox Live Arcade.

I disagree about the 360 being innovative, as a matter of fact, I think it is the complete opposite, they know exactly what most of the majority of gamers want and they do it right. They managed to bring to the front a new generation game console people are familiar with, while still keeping it in a acceptable price range.

Trust me, when I paid out $250 for my PSP (when it first came out), I was doing nothing BUT looking for games to play. I bought Lumines, Metal Gear Acid! and Wipeout Pure. The loading times really disgusted me, and Metal Gear and Wipeout were no fun at all. Lumines was a good game and I played it for awhile.

Then there was about 4 or 5 months where there was nothing being published I wanted, so I sold my PSP and my games and just bought a bunch of games. Then it was almost a year later when I saw that they began to publish some better looking PSP games, so yet again, I purchased a Sony PSP, this time one used from EBgames for like $197.00, I picked up a few other titles and quickly grew tired of them. I was glad i just bought a used system, because a few months later, I sold my PSP stuff yet again. Look, I don't buy a $150-$200 game system to keep playing remakes. The games you mentioned, which could indeed be fun are nothing more then recycled bull crap, that I can download for free without having to own a PSP. I am not going to turn around and even spend $20 on a game that is over 5+ years old.

Fact is, I sold my Nintendo DS as well, but I owned it a hell of a lot longer then my Sony PSP. I just sold it about 2 months ago. You could try and say that the Nintendo DS is a cheap gimmick all you want, but I can say that I really did enjoy the time I spent with my Nintendo DS. The only reason why I sold it was because I was using it less and less. I don't think I'll EVER get into portable gaming again. Metroid Prime for the Nintendo DS was done superbly, much better then ANY of the First Person Shooters available on the Sony PSP. The Nintendo DS touch screen makes for a perfect 2nd input device. The virtual analog stick on the touch screen was fantastic and while it took a little getting used to using a flat surface for a analog stick, it worked just as good as a FPS on the PC.

I applause Nintendo for looking into new ways of input for the gaming community, what Nintendo is doing right now, could be the beginning building blocks of what could very well be a leap into virtual reality later down the road. I'd much rather have a company experiment then stick with the tried and true methods of gaming.

You can get into name calling all you want, that speaks louder then anything else you said, but I call myself a Gamer. I have had complaints about every system. And I will be the first to admit that both Nintendo and Microsoft has their faults. But don't get pissed off at me because Sony has been screwing up with the Playstation 3 since day one.

I also think exclsive games are what makes me get a console, that is why i chose the Nintendo Wii due to Mario, Brawl, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon and Battalion Wars. All the rest of the third party exclusives was a bonus. And i know for a fact that a lot of Nintendo games are great quality and last very, very long. I play melee at least once a week from when i first got GC on launch. And mario kart DD is always on at my friends house. So i say exclusives are very important, it makes the system worth more in a way. So 360 beats PS3 in this sense.

I won't say 360 is innovative, its far from it. But what microsoft have done is worked and improved areas according to their audience...Sony have done the same but they seem to want to be a "PC" more than a console system. Sony want to have a bit of everything...but it really isn't working for them.

You know, your comments wouldn't bug me so bad Revanent if I knew half of your claims weren't true. Because as I'm typing this I'm having an overbearing urge to play about 5 games I own for my PS3. Let me list them:
Rainbow 6 Vegas
FEAR
Oblivion
Armored Core 4
Gundam Crossfire(I'll explain later)

So I know most of these aren't exclusives. But I still have the ability to play them and I do. Thats the point. Now you're trying to tell me that I'm failing by having FUN? Thats a huge insult to me and to everyone else who happily owns a PS3. You're trying to tell me my PSP which I wasted half of the last 2 years of my life on was nothing short of a waste of space with absolutely NO games? Thats funny, I could have swore that waste of space was fun.

If the PS3 and the PSP such so bad then why am I wasting my time on them? Does that make any sense? No, not really. So obviously they are not as bad as everyone says they are.

Once again, I'm not saying the 360 sucks. I'm just saying that you have no knowledge about Sony or its consoles otherwise you'd be less complainy about them. As you said, "You can't take your experiences and force them on others".

Oh yeah, I'm sure someone out there cringed when I said Gundam Crossfire. It came out a couple days after the launch and got uber terrible scores(like 3 and 4 out of 10). Well to tell you the truth I didn't see anything wrong with it. Well except for the two sides were frickin' unbalanced to the max. Every time I play the Zeons I run myself into a hole D:. But with the Federation I almost beat the last mission on very hard using a ZakuII(I got careless near the end and got raped by a Gelgoog ;_;... I totally could have done it! But that doesn't matter because I just unlocked the Kampfer >:3... Do you know how un-fun that is to do on the Federation side D:?).

So Revenant, I have to ask, if someone said the Wii sucks because they hate everything on it and they could only find games like 'Cooking Mama' would you try to tell them otherwise? I know I would. Think about that. Atleast, try to.

Peace

I never said people wouldn't have fun with it. I don't think I ever said that anyone. So far, I have applied everything I said to myself and not a single other user on these forums.

A opinion, many gamers have them, none of them can be wrong, but when you look at market trends, sale prices and more, you can see that economically the PSP isn't doing well at all.

Don't assume things. I have always had Sony products. I spent most of my summer break saving up money just to buy a Playstation 1. I also destroyed by savings account a few years later when the PS2 came out, I was never happier for that.

Don't need to, because I haven't told anyone their ideas or opinions were wrong, I simply voiced my own and so far all I have heard in reply are totally bitchy comments, sometimes even attacking me. I haven't pushed any of my opinions on anyone else in this thread, I have had experiences and thats what I base my opinions on.

I am going to talk about a company however I feel I need to and if you or anyone else doesn't like that, you are simply going to have to ignore me, because I am not going to change my opinion because a few people get pissed off at me.

But you are right, just like the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo Wii started off horribly. They had these games, that were almost solely designed with the touch screen or controller in mind, because they thought that they HAD to use them to make a good game. And developers need to understand that if they can't incorporate these extra controls in a good way that they should avoid them altogether.

Alot of the first Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii games were nothing but a collection of mini games. I don't really criticize Nintendo for that, because it was simply the developers trying to get their bearings on the system. Now that the developers have a good understanding on what works and what doesn't, we have seen some fantastic stuff come out. Anyone saying that they dislike the Wii because "they could only find games like 'Cooking Mama'" are either lying to try and prove a point or are stupid. Because that simply isn't the case now is it?

The same could be said for the Playstation 3. Sony messed up on a lot of stuff and they are slowly trying to fix it. One of the biggest slaps in the face was when Sony directly lied to us and said that rumble technology was old hack and that they couldn't even be bothered to fit it in with their new sixias technology. When anyone who even kept half an eye on the industry knew that Sony has been having law suit after law suit about their infringement on stolen copyright rumble technology. When Sony finally took care of it, suddenly they announce that they are not only brining dual shock back, but that it won't be packaged with the newer PS3 systems. What a crock of bull.

The sixias technology itself was a let down when they first introduced it as well. The controls were close to terrible and a lot of people avoided it. With the new patch and update, the sixias isn't as bad as it once was, but it sure isn't anywhere as near accurate as the Wii remote tech is. People keep saying that the Wii is nothing more then a gimmick, but you have to look at it as a entire part of the system, the whole system is near built with the Wii remote in mind, mean while, sixias is even being avoided by developers, some of them even say they feel it is unnessescary. I feel that their new controllers are more of a gimmick then Nintendo's is.

And like I said, I won't ever not get another Playstation 3, because that would just be ignorant, but I won't be buying another one until Sony gets their stuff together and starts to do a better job. I am talking about price drops, better games and better development. I can totally recognize the potential that the PS3 has to offer, but how long is it going to take before it even steps up?

Wiiemote Fifa 08 > Analogue...and im a die hard Pro evo and Fifa fan that played them all the time on PS2 and 360 at my mates. The wiimote is so much more flexible to use than the dual analogue...The wiimote is like your foot, move it to the right and hold a and it'll pass to teh person on yur right, move the wiimote upwards as if your foot is launching of the ground for a shot and it sorta mimics that. The controls are awesome and makes the game very fun to play :D

It's not that odd, really. We all have games we really love. I love Ratchet and Clank. So much so that it was a large factor in me buying my PS3. I also tend to upgrade my PC based on upcoming games (but my Crysis upgrade will have to wait a while).

I also bought my DS almost exclusively for "New Super Mario Bros" (although I have enjoyed the purchase for much more).

And there are a few games that had me almost buy a 360, nothing quite got it in my hands.

Heh, I spent a very small fortune (though it was loads for me) on a new graphics card specifically to play SupCom, only to find that the game was too laggy and RAM/Processor intensive to play smoothly with more than about 0 units in the game.
Though it's paid off mega big time now, as I can play Bioshock on decent settings :-D.
