They failed because they were eating LEAD. Which is bad.

Yeah. You may not be able to marry people of the same sex, but there are places on Earth you can't even be attracted to people of the same sex.
We need more freedom in some areas but one thing is for sure we live very sweet lives.

our lives are anything but free. Majority of choices are available only due to money. Money is anything but free, and majority of choice in america is linked to it.

But monetary limitations are not insurmountable, nor are they legal prohibitions...

And in fact, we have a better opportunity than most other places to gain the necessary money to get around those sorts of obstacles... There are plenty of people in the world that have absolutely zero chance...

I'd argue that the US has just recently reached the zenith of its power, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, not WW2. Sure we're seeing reduction in influence due to mismanaged wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But think deeper, the US' goal is to create a democratic state in the heart of the middle east. When/If they achieve this, they'll have an array of immediately friendly powers in what is really the last seriously troubling area in the world. Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. This strategy is going to allow us to basically wield any influence we want in really what is the last dangerously troubling region in the world.

The perceived dip in influence now is temporary, and think about what you are seeing. The US is simultaneously fighting wars in different parts of the world, to further our ends. That is a power that no other nation right now has.

When this is fixed you've got what? Iran can be dealt with, North Korea is done, you'll have to worry about African genocides(can be fixed, as the lazy assed Europeans should be fixing Darfur right now), and Russia returning to a totalitarian state under Putin. China is not a threat but in economic competition, they've invested in us because they don't want war.

They don't want war with the United States, but Chinese generals definitely want war with its surrounding territories. They are planning to invade and annex Taiwan, and haven't even tried making it a secret. Whether they actually go through with it depends on popular opinion, but I imagine that the United States wouldn't risk alienating one of its new trade partners.
