One thing that I really hope does not happen is that we end up being able to add 'applications' and other stupid stuff to members pages. Do not let the members pages become another Facebook or Myspace demon! I shuddered at the prospect of the custom content box that can be added to a members page, and what evils that alone could unleash.

Even with that considered, I hope that stupid chain messages ("Post this in seven days or you will die") do not become the inane commonplace as with other places on the web.
In reference to your post, I really gotta say that this new color scheme hurts my eyes.
Don't worry, the members pages are javascript and flash free, and for good reason. The custom CSS could allow people to do very "My Space"y things with their pages, but it isn't going to happen, at least not in mass. One of the reasons My Space pages are so bad are that it is so popular that there are thousands of websites with bad CSS for people to grab.

That wont happen with BYOND, at least not unless we start seeing millions of active players or something.

BYOND is turning into something that closer resembles YouTube. User generated content, allowing for plenty of communication about said content.

You aren't the only one saying that. Not by a long shot.

Meh. The colour scheme would be ok if it were on paper... but having such bright colours for a website is not a good thing.
It's sorta like staring at a light bulb.
