Released for the PC back in November of last year and for the PS3 in December of the same year, Unreal Tournament 3 is the latest game in the Unreal series. Releasing May 1st of this year for the 360.
So I picked this game up. I mean, it looks pretty awesome. Right off the bat, this game is pretty awesome. It lacks effort in some areas(like voice quality) but none the less. When you first pop in the game it'll make you install a couple of things and then you can be on your way. Since I, personally, am horrible at playing these games online; I started on the story mode first. Its cheesy as hell. Don't get me wrong, its not bad or anything, just cheesy. The story is nothing special. In any case, the story mode is basically themed matches against the enemy with some dialog thrown in. Its pretty fun though and it gets you introduced to the game so don't knock it.
On the PS3, you can choose to install it onto your hard drive so you don't have to load as much. Thats always fun. It also features keyboard and mouse support. Which is kind of odd. This IS a console port we're talking about here. Also, you CAN install player mods and maps onto your PS3 but as of right now, Sony shows no Playstation Network support of this. You have to download the mods yourself and put them on a USB drive... There are other methods but thats basically the easiest. You can also customize your characters for online play, but be willing to sacrifice some time in story to unlock other parts and what not... You should expect that though. PSN is basically deserted for story mode so don't expect to get any support there. This aint no Warhawk either. Not alot of people play UT3... Surprisingly. That or it might just be Sony is too reclusive and doesn't want cross-console play. Bastards.
Now that thats done, lets talk about how this game looks and feels. The game is damn sexy looking. Don't get me wrong, its no Call of Duty 4 but it has its own style... Reminiscent of Gears of War... For good reason and I HOPE I don't have to tell you why. The game is pretty awesome in that you don't ever have to reload your guns, just watch your ammo count or you might find yourself on the short end of the stick. Vehicles in this game are another matter entirely. Personally, I hate them. Because I can never find them unless they're running me over. So usually I just end up shooting them until they explode. Your preference is yours however. The controls for vehicles is pretty damn smooth though. Its not a hard transition when you climb into a car like in some games. Overall, the look and feel of this game is smooth. Pretty much everywhere.
Review:
Strong points-
-The game has a nice look and feel to it overall
-Its easy to jump into and play
-Player Maps&Mods
-Customizable Characters~
Weak points-
-While the game DOES let you have maps and mods, theres no support from PSN for this feature.
-The game has bad Voice Quality.
Overall:
Gameplay: 9/10
Online Support : 5/10
Graphics: 9/10
Audio: 7/10
Features: 9/10
Total: 8.3/10
Unreal Tournament 3 is a great game but lacks the hype it deserves. Even with its commercials. D:. Its definitely not the best game out there but still something you should consider adding to your library. If you have a 360 you don't have to wait much longer either. May 1st.
Peace out,
Warlin

All unreal games have had Keyboard and Mouse support for almost every console they've been ported to, as the unreal series started out as a PC game, and has been designed to be a PC game all the way to the latest rendition.
Honestly, UT2004 was IMO much better than UT3 was. I did like the focus on vehicles, though. It's identical to Quake III: Arena on the ground-modes, though.
If you are into spending $50 for 1996 gameplay with 2008 graphics, be my guest.
