I need some advice. I want to get a laptop. The sole purpose of it will be for programming(DM). The part I need help with is this, I am looking for something very cheap, and something that will hold a good charge. I am not asking for a direct link, I am mainly looking for people to throw some brand names at me that they have found to hold decent charges.

I plan on getting a 9" when it comes out in May. They will cost a coin more than the 7", but they are the same size and form factor, but bigger screen, so it will be a good bit prettier. I already have a laptop, but I want something between my cellphone and laptop, which the Eee fits in perfectly.

The EeePC is great for price and battery charge, yes. However, the keyboard is pretty small, so if you want a computer for programming, that one might cramp you a little bit.
If you're buying a computer just for programming, why does it have to be a laptop? I would think that you'd be better served by a cheap desktop computer, which you could outfit with a full-sized or ergonomic keyboard and a big screen in order to ease your eyes and hands while programming. |

Okay, that's cool. An ASUS Eee definitely makes for a nice second PC, since you can store most of your files on your main PC and utilize them on the Eee via network (solves the storage problem quite nicely!) The portability really can't be beat except by other subnotebooks such as the HP Mini-Note (not available yet I think) and the Everex CloudBook.

The new ones coming out in May have like a 20 GB SSD.
