I'm annoyed by the many "Attempts" I've made to fill out an a complete post. I'm already annoyed by the fact that BYOND isn't the best place for long single-player "turn-based RPG's". The fact I cannot successfully enlist for STAFF elevates my frustration..

Attempt:#1-3:
Iconner, Mapper , host
I asked for it and I know this is obviously something that happens on numerous occasions but I asked for them, in time i returned to the forums to find my post gone and I saw many answered posts by people who didn't follow the guidelines properly. I've been using the forums for awhile and I have a feeling my reputation has lowered greatly because of several..."mishaps". Yes I do know this might call for some unwanted posts.

Attempt: #4:
Super Smash
Now I now know the guidelines and rules and do agree it was removed without notice appropriately. But half the time I didn't know (Hence removed without notice) but can you really just ban someone without informing them. I call for some sort of message staff sends to you privately so you know to stop.
I thought my computer was just being annoying because it already had been when I've searched the web a lot of pages were not able to be reached and I thought that was the case with this. Until it happened again.

Attempt: #5:
Sinxys Saga
Now I rushed the post, without a doubt. But if i've rushed it and informed. Instead of leaving me with a reputation of a "Amateur" or "Bad" Coder then closing thread so that people can look at that for about 30 seconds and get a good laugh out of it , why cant we just delete the post?

(Yet again this calls for private messages to inform developers about a concern or problem in their post then deleting it)

Don't get me wrong I agree think the moderators do the best they can on the forums but theres always room for improvement.

Sincerely, Farmer of Souls, Choka
Posts which don't follow the guide lines in id:633561 are generally locked or deleted.

This conversation has happened on the forums a lot now and the same old arguments are being repeated. Move onward sir. Make sure your game is completely in league with those rules, fill out the template 100% and there shouldn't be a problem.

What I'm saying is he's ruined my reputation and theres practically no point in making game. Without practical STAFF I might as well make one of those pointless 5 minute cartoon franchise flash games. I have to wait for the post to be flooded out just to be able to make a post and get competent replies. If I my game is automatically branded "boring","horrible" and I will have put my sweat and blood(obvious sarcasm) into a game for hours and hours just for it to be ruined the very moment I complete it.

Bottom line every time want to make a decent game its ruined by BYOND STAFF some kind of way , flooded or isn't a competent reply.. I'm very annoyed by the way my violated posts have been handled and BYOND is ducking the fact that part of the STAFF sounds more efficient than they really are!

You know what? It doesn't matter, the BYOND Staff handles it in the way they see fit. It's their site, they can do whatever they want, if they wanted to delete your post without any reason what-so-ever, guess what? They can!
Don't blame your failure on other people, especially not the people that bring you the software!
If your can't even follow the forum rules, you shouldn't be making games.

I'm still having a hard time following what you're complaining about. From what I can see, you have two posts sitting in Classified Ads at the moment.

One of which was locked by DigitalMouse because you broke the rules and incorrectly or incompletely filled out the template. So you're blaming him for ruining your reputation. id:641466

You also have another post in Classified Ads, about the same game, which isn't incorrectly or incompletely filled out, and as such, has been left alone. id:640794

I don't understand why you need two posts about the same game in the first place. If anything, the locked one would probably have been deleted if Digi had noticed it was a second post on the same game. The first post of yours is sitting there happy and hasn't been touched. The only thing it's lacking, is replies from other users.

I never said that they shouldn't have deleted the posts I'm saying that they could handle many things better if they had private messaging between BYOND staff and developers this problem wouldn't rise. secondly Flame Sage I always see you disclaiming other persons work...Watch who you mouth off at one day you will find yourself in a predicament because no one is ever in the mood for you telling them to quit programming and give up on life as usual. By the time you talk to the whole community there will be no community. You think you're helping
BYOND by yelling at people and calling them incompetent when all you have to do is reword your statements.

And everyone else is probably annoyed that you don't follow the rules in Classified Ads. Just a thought.

I'm already annoyed by the fact that BYOND isn't the best place for long single-player "turn-based RPG's".

That's not the fault of the BYOND staffies. If you want to bring in some single-player RPG buddies and bring life to that genre here, be my guest!

The fact I cannot successfully enlist for STAFF elevates my frustration..

You can successfully enlist for STAFF if you follow the following easy STEP:
1. Follow the rules in Classified Ads

For THOSE that find this to be too vague, you might break it into smaller STEPS:
1. Does my game qualify for recruitment via Classified Ads?
- 1a. Is my game based on copyrighted material (i.e., Naruto, Bleach, Super Smash Bros., etc.)?
- If yes:
- - Don't post in Classified Ads! Try BYOND Anime, or recruit privately!
- If no:
- - It probably qualifies!
2. Fill out the post template entirely. Don't rush your posts because, as digitalmouse said, "If you are too rushed to make a good post, then it's likely you are too rushed to contribute to a decent game." This is especially true given the consideration that a game takes far longer than a post to make.
3. Proofread your post. Does this look like something that will better your image, or is this also going to ruin your reputation?
4. Correct errors if necessary.
5. Post.

If it was gone, you broke a rule. Maybe you asked for help on a Naruto [...Bleach...whatever] game, maybe you didn't follow the template. The point is that if you don't follow the rules that appear whenever you go to post a thread in Classified Ads, then your posts are candidates for deletion without warning.

and I saw many answered posts by people who didn't follow the guidelines properly.

You can't expect every post that ever crosses the forums to always be inspected thoroughly, unless you'd like to make a hefty donation to Tom's forum moderator fund (considering the moderators are all volunteers and do the cleanup in their free-time). The mods do a pretty nice job of taking care of the place as a whole.

What's rule #3 in Classified Ads?

Now I now know the guidelines and rules and do agree it was removed without notice appropriately.
But half the time I didn't know

Good, you should have read those rules before posting, considering they appear there whenever you go to post.

but can you really just ban someone without informing them. I call for some sort of message staff sends to you privately so you know to stop.

"You're a murderer, sir. Please stop before I have to arrest you."

*Ahem* Whenever you go to post a new thread in Classified Ads, you are presented with the rules to posting there. You are expected to have read, know, and abide by those rules in the post. When you submit the post, you are agreeing to those terms. If you don't follow the forum rules, you don't deserve to post on the forum, hence banning is appropriate.

Also, as for the "I call for" quip, I'd like to inform you that you are in no position of power, and therefore you don't have the leverage to "call for" anything.

Now I rushed the post, without a doubt. But if i've rushed it and informed.

I wonder what that last sentence means?

Instead of leaving me with a reputation of a "Amateur" or "Bad" Coder then closing thread so that people can look at that for about 30 seconds and get a good laugh out of it , why cant we just delete the post?

I thought your whole gripe was that your posts were being deleted? And that's not the mention that you were making duplicate posts here.

Don't get me wrong I agree think the moderators do the best

I actually had a nice LOL-irl over that link. =)
Your posts were deleted for fully valid reasons, while not everyone may agree with how advising you of this was handled it was handled this way and that's all their is to it. Posting here about it isn't going to change anything, all you're doing is making people mad. If you can't follow the rules of a forum don't get pissed off when you're moderated for it. Nobody 'ruined' your reputation, anything that was ruined was by full fault of your own.
