what are some of the best type of websites you have been to?
Unit Conversions
Giveaway of the Day

Unless you had some more specific criteria in mind.

That unit conversion site is nice, but most of the time I just use Google. Something like "5000m to ft" will give a nice plain text answer. Handy when you use the search bar that is not a standard feature of most browsers.

Anyways, as for sites I like... Newgrounds.com, Homestarrunner.com, Adultswim.com(just to catch the new episodes of shows before they air on Sunday), reader.google.com(I have RSS feeds for everything from tech news to Sunday comics in it, kinda my catch-all for websites I enjoy), and twitter.com.

Really though, my RSS feed reader catches most everything, so I rarely have to leave the comfort of Google Reader.

Check both of my posts. XD
EDIT: No one seemed to notice what's wrong with my links... There's something wrong for both of them, as they are legit links to websites I like to go to. (There is an HTML Fader that I use.)

It's actually funny that you brought up that unit conversion site, since that's currently my programming project: write a utility which can convert any unit of a certain measure to any other unit in the same measure, so I can include it in one of my games. Some of the conversions I've been planning on are deliberately silly (furlongs per fortnight (speed), hertz per dioptre (speed), hogshead (volume), worhols (time (fame)), bus-lengths (distance), soccer fields (area)), since that's the M.O. of the in-game company that sells the in-game conversion software -- completeness to the point of ridiculousness, trying to corner the market in all possible ways, with heaps and heaps of satire about big business.

I originally planned on writing a utility which would convert the in-game units (Cubic Units, Energy Units, Energy Units per Minute, Damage Units, Mass Units, Gravity-Mass-Units, etc.) to units that players would be more familiar with, and sort of went from there. =)
I like wiki sites. Two of my favorites are Wikipedia and TV Tropes.

I did notice, but it made me sad that the links were trying to trick me.
