Alright, I have PuTTy.exe, and I am making a new game on byond. I have paypal to buy a shell server also. But I am not sure how to buy one to get the information to fill out for putty. If anyone knows how to do this, or even understands what I am asking please help. Thanks. If you are not sure of what I mean please respond. Because I am kinda new to shell servers.
Thank you.

You need to know the IP/Port of the server and your user name/password for it before you can go setting up putty

Monthly. But you get the server entirely to yourself, full access to its root directories, and full control to do anything you want on it. And most of them (if not all) come with a 100mbps internet conection both up and down.
Plus you can get windows installed instead of linux. Which if youre planning on hosting a BYOND game I'd recomend doing. And then you dont need putty, you can just login via windows remote control access |

Uhh, I do not have that kinda money. Is there any that are more affordable? Like 20-30 a month?

For a BYOND game, you wouldn't need a fraction of that power for yourself. Consider Slice Host (http://www.slicehost.com/), as you can pay for how much you want to use. |

Consider Slice Host (http://www.slicehost.com/), as you can pay for how much you want to use. I run multiple servers off of mine. It seems like BYOND games will start to slow down with multiple people in a single server (75-100+). But if you spread those same people between multiple servers it eliminates the lag o.O |
