For some reason i have been getting spammed with E-Mails from BYOND about a lost password request. Something about requesting to have my passowrd changed or found or something... Ive gotten like 10 in the last 8 hours. And its on my BYOND members key. As well as another key i use for my productions. Does anyone know what might be causing this or how it may be fixed? Id hate to have someone trying to hack my account or something... And if its a BYODN error i would hope someone could fix it or atleast know about it to try and find the problem. Any suggestions or hints? Or whatever.
Sounds like someone is just hammering the password change request form. The only concern you should have, besides the annoyance of it, is that they gain access to your email. If they get access to your email account, then they may be able to change your password.

Chances are those requests are logged, so there is a good chance that the staff can help you out here. Honestly though, there should be like a 3 request limit in a 1 week span or something, just to keep that number down.
Yeah, probably someone is trying to annoy you - I guess everyone can do that to everyone. Wonder if there's actually no safety measure about that? Well, you could always block the incoming emails on your end.

There should be safety measures, but that would be pretty horrible.

How would that be horrible? Have you ever forgot your password 3 times in one week?

With your suggestion, it's enough that someone forgets his password once in any time for him to get screwed and locked out of his account for a week (this should've been too obvious to mention, but say the e-mail did not arrive so he requested it again, or maybe he needed to turn off his spam blocker and forgot to on the first try, or any other reason to request it again), which is way too freaking much time, really. I know government-operated sites that aren't that strict, they only lock you out for a day after 5 tries, which seems suitable.

Hmm... Well someone hacked my MSN account last night. Changed me password and blocked all my contacts and deleted them from my WLM list... It took me like 5 minutes to undo all the "Damage" If you want to call it that. I dont know why someone would be such a loser that they would need to take time out of there life to hack someone... Including me... They didnt do much... Either way i changed all my passwords and did some other stuff to make sure this doesnt happen again. I find it rather sad. But oh well. I hope BYOND can figure out whos doing it and stop them or find away to stop it from happening.

It doesn't lock you out of the account, it just refuses to send another password request after like 3 in one week. If it is marked spam the first time, you have two more tries. And if it does make it through to your spam folder, that doesn't mean that the link will no longer work. It just prevents someone from getting spammed with emails.
You're not the first person to mention this kind of issue recently, so we're looking into it.

...Which obviously locks you out of the account, since you don't have your password.

It can also prevent you from seeing or even having access to the e-mail. Which means it doesn't matter if the link works or not.
There's no arguing this, though, anyway, it's silly. You don't have to agree with me, but I think a whole week is definitely too long.
