join the best pokemon rpg ^^^^^^^^^^^^
I would argue that Pokemon Blue was the best Pokemon RPG.

This BYONDer believes that Pokemon Gold was the best.
In response to Popisfizzy
That BYONDer was wrong.

Best pokemon RPG is Mystery dungeon for me. It completely innovated the boring and old-fashioned pokemon gameplay while keeping it fun and addictive.

I like Red due to sentimental reasons, but I must say that Gold/Silver/Crystal were significantly more fun than Red/Blue.

[edit]
If 'funner' is a word, I meant that in place of 'more fun.'

Seconded.
Crystal was the best.

Color graphics, day/night clock, berries, Johto (Gold/Silver) AND Kanto (Red/Blue) regions. You also got to battle the protagonist from the first generation at the end!

Color graphics

G/S did, too

day/night

G/S did, too

clock

Unsure if G/S had this

berries

G/S had these

Johto (Gold/Silver) AND Kanto (Red/Blue) regions.

G/S definitely had these. The only way to get the opposite pokemon of your version (which is Lugia in gold) was to talk to some guy in Pewter city to get the silver feather.

You also got to battle the protagonist from the first generation at the end!

Unsure.

I think the main difference between G/S and crystal was the guy/girl addition. Was there a different story, too? I forget the additions, really.

Animated Pokemon sprites and the battle tower. It's Gold/Silver + Extras, which is why it's better.
In response to SuperAntx
Good point. I still got more enjoyment out of Gold, though!

I always considered the GSC series the best. Everything started going down hill from that point :S

Mystery dungeon owned though <.<

I still like the new games, they add more content and strategy. Still, you can't argue with the classics.
In response to Jeff8500
A bad thing with the newer games is Pokemon bloat. There's just too many, and they're still adding more. >_>

Agreed.

I say the best would be if you can chose the villains for once :/ Steal pokemon, murder/kidnap trainers, all those type of things... and if you are the greatest villain, you will rule the world (or make a mistake and pay the price with your life).

Hm, I am almost tempted to do that... almost.
In response to GhostAnime
That would be cool! I plan on putting a little of that concept in my game (Pokemon Hunters), but it would end up being weaker than it should to keep the game balanced. You don't want anyone losing their level 100 mudkipz it took them so long to train to a hunter!
