Nearly three months ago, on March 3rd, I wrote a review for the game Tower Defense: Clone Wars. The review was posted at BYOND Strategy, but it has the images linked back to Single Player games. Since it was posted in March, those images have acquired around 230 views each, suggesting that roughly 230 people looked at the review.

Yesterday, I posted a review of Teh Blobz at Single Player Games. Since it was posted, each of the images has acquired around 230 views.

That means the review posted at Single Player Games acquired just as many views in one day as the review posted at BYOND Strategy received in three months. Does that mean that Single Player Games is more popular than BYOND Strategy? :)
Yeah, kick the half-dead puppy and compare views to a guild which is never mentioned in these forums. OoOo!

I smell and my dog looks funny. Frell, I can't even get a single subscriber for my entire collection of current and future BYOND games.

Feel better, tough guy?

PS: You have something on your face.

Hey, you got the link in the nav bar. BYOND Strategy should be blowing my guild away. :P

(Wow, a whole slew of blog posts at IGN and Gamasutra and not a single comment. Way to go!)

I told you I smell.

That said, your work is consistent between the two. It's the fact that one is an RPG that's different. Try reviewing more strategy games in either (or both) guilds and see what happens.

This is discouraging. What can we do to help?

Your games are weird and confusing. You need to make some videos or something to show people how they are fun. :)

I told myself to cut IGN off after a year of no results and that comes up this month. Gamasutra is still building its blog section so I'll wait it out.

The front page of IGN's blog section has a small list of the latest posts and a small list of top blogs. I blog weekly so the former doesn't offer much. The latter requires the popularity that Tech Tree could use in the first place. I could suggest creating activity by logging in, viewing, rating, and possibly commenting, but I don't know what good it would do. I tend to appear multiple times on the front pages offered by the category links on the side, but I'm not part of the IGN staff and I don't reply to a lot of articles/threads. I might try asking what people think in one of the forums.

At the moment, the number of people blogging on Gamasutra seems small so, assuming I'm not the victim of a filter's illusion, the Tech Tree summary gets some time on the front page or two. (It's often still on the second page by the time I post the next week's column.) However, the content generally isn't something that those outside BYOND can apply to their work. Some comments might attract more readers, but forcing it could remove the tolerance people appear to have for me.
