I am nearly 100% linux the only thing that brings me back to my windows pc for about 2 hours a day is byond
I tried running it in wine
the Dream Maker runs excellent
I haven't tried the Dream Daemon because the native linux dream daemon runs wonderful
but the Dream seeker runs terribly slow
I'm sure there is a reason for linux not having its own dream seeker(well I think there is one a text mode or something)but I am hoping that one can be made
and what are the problems which are delaying this
P.S. I wasn't sure where to put this so I posted it here

All Linux development right now is basically compiling the general core systems into non-GUI stuff. Dream Seeker simply can't rely on that anymore with how interfaces work.
The hope is that some day there will be a way of making a Linux version avaliable, but right now it's just not realistic. |

One thing you can do to speed it up is switch the rendering engine to OpenGL and overwrite the riched20.dll and riched32.dll. Between those two, you should get a reasonably fast DS.
Another option is VirtualBox. VirtualBox is a machine emulator that will let you run Windows inside of Linux. VirtualBox supports both OpenGL and basic DirectX and might allow you to get your BYOND fix without having to restart into Windows. |
There are no plans to create a native graphical Linux version, there simply isn't the man-power and resources required to undertake such a project.
