Which computer for these games?

Well, I'm already trying to find a good GPU that can handle games that I plan to get, but I'm not sure what kind of a CPU I should get. Here's the list I'll probably/will get for when I get a new GPU.


*Call of Duty 4
*Ran Online ( http://ranonline.e-games.com.ph/ )
*(Possibly) RF Online
*(Possibly) Modern Warfare 2
*(Possibly)(Will get if released already) StarCraft 2

These games need GPU, not CPU. For MW2 you need 8 GeForce series, otherwise it's not worth even trying to play it on minimal graphics

I would recommend geforce 9 to be honest. You can get a 9500 gt 1 gb for under 80 dollars most places, less online, and it I can run modern warfare 2 on pretty well maxed settings at 1280x800(I have poor eye sight, can't read the text on any higher resolutions).

I'm not sure if I'd buy a set (complete with the monitor and stuff like those) but if not, I hope it can run MW2 at maxed 1280x1024.

I've been told this on many occasion but I've never had a problem with mine. I have a two year-old 8800GT Alpha Dog and I can play Crysis at 1920x1080, with very high settings, at about 28 FPS, in heavy combat. It may have something to do with the rest of my computer picking up the slack, but to me that's not bad, considering that my computer is two to three years old as well.

Mine like 3 year old too, but GT tend to be weaker than same model GTS/GTX/Ultra, also cost between GT and GTS hardly any different, however between GT/GTS and GTX/Ultra price difference is very high, but it's like 50% faster

I hate to be nit-picky, but lag in computer terms does not mean poor performance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lag_%28online_gaming%29

Lag in the computer world generally means bad network latency. The time it takes for you to send information to the server, have the server process the information, and then how long it takes for it to return the reactionary information all add up to the latency. When you have a poor connection or the server is overloaded it creates lag between your input and the response of the server. Generally games running on underpowered hardware cause low FPS or poor performance, not lag.

I never mentioned network lag. I meant performance lag (like below 25 FPS)

That isn't lag. Low FPS is low FPS or poor performance. Lag specifically refers to client server interaction.
