It's a lot like Indigo Prophecy, if you take out the paranormal aspect.

But in the case of Heavy Rain this does apply, since it is entirely story driven. Thanks for pointing that out. The beginning of the game is merely an introduction, and like it has been said before, the beginning is very slow and lacks the action-ness and interesting developments the rest of the game does. The beginning of the game is not a great representation of the rest of the game, and might be why you don't see it in the demo (because demos exist to give people an idea of what the gameplay is like, not what the first 1/15th of the game is like). And another point you made, the beginning of the game is a flashback that introduces a whopping 1 character with any personality and 3 characters that you will pretty much never interact with after the flashback. The part that Fizz experienced wasn't even "the beginning." It was the prologue. |

That sounds pretty bad to me if you've got to put up with something long and boring before you're even at the beginning. If it's not fun or interesting it really should have been cut from the game and if important information was presented they should have restructured things and presented it by some other means. |

I agree. The first, I think, 4 scenes are pretty uneventful. Though the first couple scenes I give the benefit of trying to show you how the game works, but after that it's unnecessarily drawn out with not much interesting going on. It doesn't start getting good until the end of the last scene with the first character. After that point, I couldn't stop playing until I finished it.

Actually, Keeth's "logic" was mocking your original statement. So you're actually criticizing (a somewhat strawman version of) your own logic.
