Well im just curious about how most of you found out about BYONd and how you learned what you do(yea i know some of you don't do much). Anyway I'l start :D
Well i found out about byond by typing in "make games" in google. I learned programming in two phases:
1)When i first started byond i somehow ended up reading the guide on my first or second day. I tinkered around a little bit and had finaly finished with the guide. After that i tried my hands at making a small game, only to fail horribly. I noticed that there were a lot of gaps in my DM knowledge. The guide just didn't cover everything. Well after that i stopped using my pager.
2)I stopped playing games and instead tried to fully comphrehend this whole programming thing. I read most of the articles and tried pretty much everything i saw. In the end i learned it and ended up with 100+ project folders in the BYOND folder. After all that, did the same thing(somewhat) with c++(still in phase 2).

Dragon-warrior.com showed me Dragon Warrior Online which was why I joined BYOND~

Same story, found BYOND through a google search. Back in the day, it was called DUNG. I kept it in my bookmarks, and then about a few months after the switch to BYOND, I showed up and lurked for a while. Eventually, Gughunter's Space Tug interested me enough to make a key, and I learned to program through trial and error.
Eventually, I hit a point where I was working on some pretty advanced stuff, and moved on to other languages. I'm now a Software Engineer, and it's pretty much all thanks to BYOND. |

Nice. I'm also hoping to have a job that has to do with programming in the future :)

Similar story here, except it wasn't that long ago, and I start school for software engineering in a few weeks :P |
