So hopefully this is the right section!
Hello Community!
So I have been developing a game engine in byond, It's basicly a versitle game. It can become anything, RPG, Fan Based, whatever my heart desiers. My question to everyone is, what type of game is everyone interested in playing these days? A rpg with quests, and dungens, and raids, ect or would people prefer to travel years back to the age of the samurai. Hell what about star wars( not to keen on that with SWTOR coming out soon). Theres even a old age castle seige, fight to conqur ur territory and claim your title as king. Oh the choices, so my question is what are YOU (The Community) looking for in a game!
yours truly, Dave.
P.S sorry for grammer, I am kinda lazy to correct it. CHEERS

*sigh*
How about a game where your a Princess and you have to slice your way through your father the King's Floating Kingdom with a sword crafted with SunLight to rescue the Prince from your father's Raging hand. Your father's not evil, just doesn't like the guy your gonna marry...so you don't like his um...1000 guards and show him how it feels. *Brain cloud ceases* "sorry about that...not sure what kind of game, as long as it's great it'll rock. I tend to favor Action/Adventure/Rpg type games, but hey, why not throw some puzzles in aswell?" If you like the story, let me know. lol |

Amusing story. I have to say, if you can think of something like that as a joke on a forum, you really shouldn't have any issues designed an original game.

It's easier to think up original ideas when your not trying hard to think them up. Thinking up game ideas is a fun process, so when your really trying to be original and thinking hard, it can clog your thinking. Just let loose and try to have fun, you might joke around, then say, "Hey, maybe that wouldn't be so bad if I changed This and That." |
I do feel the need to comment on the star wars idea, simply because star wars is probably my favorite sci-fi franchise of all time. Lucasarts has an odd history of legal action against fangames/mods. Way back when, as long as it didn't use Characters/Names from official media(books/movies/games) it was allowed, more recently they have sent half-hearted attempts at C&D orders to mods/fangames, but this seems more directed at media that doesn't portray star wars very well, there are several mods for major games that have been fully authorized by lucasarts ( allowed for the use of licensed media to be used ).
