What happened to all the Dragon Ball Z games? Its like they all have vanished or something. And My favorite type of Dragon Ball Z game was Final Resurrection,it was the best. What happened Volkov? You did such a great job...I'm disappointed to come back to byond and see there is no dbz games. Please,someone make some. People,make DBZ games! Not this other stuff,we need more anime in this website. There was so much before.

Actually, I do. Please make a survey, and see what games are most appealing. Out of all games, I -NEVER- hear anyone talk about getting anime games outside of BYOND. I've heard mostly SquareEnix games, and shooter games (and Madden 2kwhatever)
I have litterally -never- heard anyone talk about anime video games other than on the internet. -NEVER- period. It appeals to a small portion, other than on BYOND. In fact, you probably wouldn't even still play anime games (if you do) if you hadn't come to BYOND (if you played it before BYOND) and played DBZ games. I'm not saying Anime games are all shit, but him telling us to get rid of everything else and replace it with DBZ is either obvious troll, or complete ignorance. (Although I must say I hate weaboos) Bottom Line(tl;dr): Most real gamers (i.e: Not the little BYONDers you know) don't slam their lives into an Xbox/PS2/Console playing Narutimate Ninja (what kind of shit name is that), it's either some FPS, a Square Enix game, or something like that. As far as ninja games in general, I've only heard people talk about Ninja Gaiden. It was one of the earliest XBox games. | |

You missed the point, completely. It's almost as if somehow skipped all literature/english/communications courses offered in school. The Point was that anime games are the last thing people think about when they think of video games. When someone says video game, I imagine: Action Shooter RPG (not really, but kind of) EDIT: Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention. Pokemon and DBZ are the only ones that are 'hot topics' in gaming(Really just Pokemon, I heard one person talk about DBZ, whereas I actually indulge in Pokemon occasionally) EDIT: Screw it, I rarely hear about Pokemon other than its commercials. I've seen lots of people play DS's/PSPs in public back when they were really popular, it was never an anime game. | |
Just because it's not what YOU first think of when you hear video games, does not mean it's the same for everyone else. Your trying to pass off your own opinion as a fact. The majority of my friends love playing The "Clash of Ninja" naruto game series for the Gamecube/Nintendo Wii, or the ones released on the Xbox360/PS3. There are a lot of anime games sold for consoles but I wouldn't expect you to know that. If you don't like anime, that's fine by me. But speaking non-sense about something you clearly don't know a single thing about makes you seem pretty damn ignorant. There's a pretty big list of anime games that have done great on many consoles, some even better than FPS.

Just because you can think of a few friends who like anime games as much as you do, doesn't mean most of the gaming community does.
Walk into any game store, I bet you the game previews they have playing on the monitor will feature CoD, or some shooter, as well as some action games. You won't see "Narutimate ninja 123412341234." you are ignorant because you think that everyone likes what you like, and you think I'm wrong because I'm not an anime fanatic. I didn't say anime was bad, nor did I say anime games were bad. I see anime games the same way I see movie games. Not nearly as good as the actual thing it is based off of. I get far more pleasure from watching an anime than I do from playing their games. Clash of the Ninja is fine, but Soul Calibur is simply better in all ways (the fact that most characters have an extremely extensive list of moves to use is one way, the fact that it has a decent storyline is another). EDIT: You know what, just make a poll outside of BYOND. See what game people prefer, if it really bugs you this much and you really want to prove I know nothing about what I'm talking about. Make a poll in some gaming community that is not biased towards a certain genre (for instance, don't put it in mmohunter, or whatever its called. Obviously). Put it somewhere like Gamefaqs, or something. Put Naruto Clash of the Ninja 3 (or whatever's the latest one) up against CoD, and see what wins. Like I said, just because people like it less doesn't make it [stuff], it doesn't make CoD the best game ever, and it certainly doesn't mean they have the greatest opinions in the world, however, stating that BYOND needs more fangames is the dumbest thing ever possibly conceived in the human imagination other than trying to unlock a door with a lego block. | |
I agree with you completely with how the initial post of this thread was unneeded.
However, there are some decent anime games made by professional companies. Just because they're anime doesn't immediately make them bad. That's a mistake a lot of people make. (Of course, most of them aren't that great.) It's true when you say, 'video game' that's not what most people think of. But there's a lot of good games most people don't think of as well. (Just because people think of it just means it's popular.) And, no one has to make a poll to find out the truth here. The sales figures are out there. Not to mention reviews on various websites. (Whatever scientific methods suit your fancy.) | |
Never said they were crap. I'm just saying when it comes to publicity, companies do what is most popular. If Anime was more popular, I'd be all for the movement to revamp the site into BYODBZG (Build Your Own Dragon Ball Z Game), but it's not.
Clash of the Ninja is good, however, there are simply better games. | |
