In reading the following posts you will find statements concerning this initial post. It was for my other project Calbrenth's Journey which does not appear on this site. If you wish to know more about it I will send you the url in a email. With that said theis post has been completely re-edited.

The main reason for this post is to introduce my intentions of developing a Fantasy RPG in a 2D setting. I started the story back in 2009 and believe it would make a great RPG
game. I will post more info about it as I iron out the details. I can say this. It will involve many worlds, full story lines, detailed quests, PVP, PVE, special items, special parallel worlds, the ability to buy houses (this will be the only form of player item storage other than a small starter bag, the ability to swim, guilds, crafting, banking with interest and much, much more. A general version and a subscriber version are planned as well as a store for those really unique items. I will share the title once I am in development.I look forward to this project and sharing it with you all.

Or just plug your website, never to be seen or heard from again.

Hi Jot
This is what I love most about forums. You try to make an honest post and everybody goes on the spammer, trasher, newbie, junk wagon.
I fully intend to develope my fantasy RPG right here. In a lot of ways I wish I had just stated with a 2D idea but I was already writing in another format. I will be studying the guides and code, making notes and developing my ideas for the next several weeks so that when I do start I will not be completly fumbling in the dark.
Announcing my graphic text site at the same time is only natural as it is currently up and running although much game content still needs to be written. My new game here will take some time just to get it to a state where it is ready for testing.
I hope you approve of this methodology as it seems like the most logical approach to me.

At first, it looked to me like you we're just here to plug your game, but I've noticed you wrote you're going to make a game here. Most of us will be happy to see new developers seriously working on games.

Don't take it so hard- it is very common to see one shot post spam accounts. So veterans to a board are often skeptical, especially when an announcement links to another site.

I wish you luck on your development. I briefly looked over the site and it appears to use a browser based format that would be very easy to do in BYOND. Indeed, I would go so far as to say it would be trivial to handle most of what I saw in a BYOND app. What's more, by working on the actually program (instead of just adding content to an existing product) you have much greater control over features and customization.

As to the design, I wonder how well it handles PvP or multiple PvE encounters.

Again, good luck and welcome to BYOND!

I will be genuinely happy if you do stay and make a game here. BYOND has made some huge technical leaps in the last year or two, and anything you need to do in 2d should be easily accomplished.

To the point though, plugs for other site's in this manner should probably stay on your blog. A quick "Hi, check out my blog" would be fine imo.

Like someone else pointed out, I've been here for 10 years, and I wasn't trying to be rude, just pointing out the expected.

I apologize If I got jumpy. Got my membership took care of today. Will spend the next several weeks studying the guide and resources to get acquainted with everything. I am buying a new desk top for this venture so I can get away from this cluttered heap I'm on. It will take me some time to get things filled out like my home page as I do still have a lot of work on my other project as well.

Hi
I will not being doing the stories on my other site at BYOND and not in that type of format either. I have a Fantasy story I started back in 2009 that I always thought would make a good 3D game. I am not a full blown programmer, more at the kid level, but I think I can handle the object oriented code that is used here and develop it in 2D. I am a quick learner and determined when I decide to do something so here it goes. It is a large story so maybe if it does well initially other possibilities will reveal themselves.

I probably should have just left the plug out and stated my true intentions for joining BYOND. I look forward to starting work on this new adventure.

Meh, probably. But anyways, welcome to Byond and have fun learning. The community would be willing to help you with your game, some for free, others like ExGenesis for money, but the ones like ExGen usually know how to code better. But yeah, if you ask around people would be willing to help. (P.S. Watch out for those who would undermine you.)

It will take some time to build but I will make sure you get notice of it. I may do it in sections and have a code that players can import their character to the new release. Its a large world and designed in a way that releasing episodes would work just fine.
