I know I am quite new to BYOND, but my problem is an easy one (I hope). Many of the DEMOS launch you right into the demo/game. How can I view the source code?

Let's take the 'Meter Snippet' demo for instance. It simply 'runs', showing me the meter tab with hp/mp and the verb tab with 'add random hp/mp'. I would like to view the source code.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

matt

Thanks for using an actual subject! This allowed me to skip several unworthy people and jump right to your post.

If a demo provides the source code, it will be found in

Program Files/BYOND/[yourname]/MyHub/[developername]/[demoname]

A bit buried, to be sure...I believe it's on the Dantom list to give easier access to these things.

Thanks again Deadron!

For anyone else:
C:\Program Files\BYOND\users\default\MyHub\[developer's name]\[demo - 1 word]

You can browse to it from Windows Explorer.

Yep. The tentative plan is to have some menus on DS to display your various hub downloads by category.

I also think that when a .dme and a .dmb file are distributed, the .dme should take precedence (so in this case, Dream Maker would launch). I thought that was how it worked, but I guess not, and I'm sure we have a (good) reason for it.

And kudos to plourde603 for being a perfect new user, asking intelligent questions, reporting suspected bugs, and, most importantly, using the proper forums! A lot of people could stand to learn from him!
